#258693 Fast + #R0 = RF0

Posted by iquit on 03 January 2018 - 01:11 AM in New World Requests

5min per 1d

That's what most private servers of MMORPGs do, the thieves have no appreciation for the developers hard work and thus willing to shorten the lifespan of the game to a level development can't sustain.

#258089 New Aircraft Pricing, Northern and Yuxi want Feedback

Posted by iquit on 25 December 2017 - 12:49 AM in General AE Discussion

Agreed, it has negligible impact on seasoned spamliners, noticeable impact on newbie spamliners and severe impact on AE newbies.

User feedbacks are often misleading since most posters think they know more than they actually do.

#257713 Ban the use of active airline names in-game

Posted by iquit on 20 December 2017 - 01:56 AM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

Are you guys suggesting building a database of all existing airlines plus an AI system to detect misspelling circumvention, or appointing an ego maniac to ban whoever he dislikes hates? Or this is just another post presenting a problem without a working solution?

#257081 AE4?

Posted by iquit on 14 December 2017 - 02:02 AM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

it is a more realistic

In real world 10% airlines offer Premium Economy, in AE 0% and in AlEn 90%.

0% is closer to 10% than 90%, so AE is more realistic than AlEn.

#253534 Make your own airline game

Posted by iquit on 24 November 2017 - 12:08 AM in General AE Discussion

Those are just examples, someone truly has good ideas would come up with better recommendations (that really work, not "I think this should work") than what I mentioned.

#253174 Make your own airline game

If anybody wants to help, you can check out the feasibility of various avenues to monetize a free website such as captcha and cryto currency mining, then write a step by step guide on how to integrate them into your website for the best options.

#252702 The World's Fastest Airline Challenge

Posted by iquit on 19 November 2017 - 07:50 AM in General AE Discussion

Consider the following situations:

1.

X lays out the above rules.

Z runs his Concorde airline on top of his existing alliance with megahubs, makes profit from connecting pax.

X gets mad at Z.

X bans Z.

2.

Y makes sure Concorde's range is long enough to fly to all continents from any country.

Y lays out the above rules, plus you can only play in world S1 or join a specified alliance.

#251689 Make your own airline game

Posted by iquit on 14 November 2017 - 12:35 AM in General AE Discussion

A few of us are working on a basic prototype build but the going is slow (weirdly enough people can't dedicate 8 hours a day to work on a volunteer project). But that said we could always use some help if you've the skills time and drive

Where is your repository? Github?

#251097 How to beat Nex Air

Posted by iquit on 11 November 2017 - 04:18 AM in General AE Discussion

Why bother with someone who rarely stays at the top when the world ends?

#251087 World for workers and/or students (1955-2020)

Posted by iquit on 11 November 2017 - 03:48 AM in New World Requests

While myself would like to see an early no lease world, a 65 year no lease world is not any different from regular worlds.

If you stay in S2 long enough, you would realize purchasing new aircraft isn't a problem once you have enough cash.

#251074 Make your own airline game

Posted by iquit on 11 November 2017 - 03:13 AM in General AE Discussion

Since we have users who think they can code and users who think their ideas are the best things mankind has ever invented, it is worth the effort to facilitate them to try and fail.

There are many make your own RPG sites but the best you can find for airline games is make your own world.

With AE4 nowhere near completion, this is probably a better alternative mode of development.

What we need is:

  • Server side sandbox. Docker?
  • Persistent object  module, programmers should not use SQL / noSQL directly.
  • Authentication module, offload programmers from administrative tasks.
  • Client side sandbox. iframe / webworker?
  • UI API, since client side code is sandboxed, it needs a way to interact with players.

Anything else?

#249287 Is this way too far?

Posted by iquit on 29 October 2017 - 02:20 AM in General AE Discussion

Has anyone tried loading a route page with 15000 competitor routes (and switch to the "Competition" tab) on a mobile device?

Obviously there is a bug in the calculation of airport congestion penalty.

There may be a bug in the maintenance cost of terminals as they are way too low compared to rented gates.

With all Y seat configuration, I bet he's also exploiting the negative total pax bug.

And as most of you already know, there is a bug in IFS; but you can't tell if he's using a normal scam IFS, or if he's using a bug exploiting IFS by just looking at the airline.

The list goes on and on ...

trophies being defined as the closest thing to a win scenario

Some may find it more fun to crash the server than to win a trophy.

#248838 Suggestions to Combat Arguments

Posted by iquit on 23 October 2017 - 01:23 AM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

It gets results. I assure you, Yuxi is still around.

I believe it depends, if you have been bugging him over petty issues too often or there's no solution to your problem, you may not see any response even if you have a pinned thread dedicated to you in the forum.

You do realise that Leakpass was almost certainly a fake account, don’t you?

It's pointless to ban such an account, but a foolish administrator can always convince himself he has done wonder.

However, you can analyze the log files to figure out who he is and report him to his school / ISP / upstream.

#247964 Calling on New Players

Posted by iquit on 17 October 2017 - 01:27 AM in New Players and Questions

Motion to unpin this thread as OP is currently inactive and most who replied has no idea what themselves talking about.

#247963 Now Boarding: Episode 1

Posted by iquit on 17 October 2017 - 01:26 AM in Other Games

They don't have thousands of useless airports nor hundreds of useless aircraft types, but they do have a more realistic connecting pax model.

#247961 Why AE hasn't been in development

Posted by iquit on 17 October 2017 - 01:19 AM in General AE Discussion

So now you're judging people by the number of posts they have?

Yeah, usually the more they talk the less they know.

I have received no messages from staff, no warning points, and I can still post so I'm not banned.

A mature administrator don't ban a user for posting what he dislikes. Your idea of who to ban already disqualified you as an administrator.

There are a few airline management projects popping up but they don't suit your taste, what you want is AE3.1 + all the major bugs and exploits introduce by your "great" ideas and only yours. Different developers will have different ideas and they don't agree with each other, that's most likely why there is only one AE developer. You're asking for someone to voluntarily do the work while you control what he does, that's not going to happen.

#247200 How to Destroy a BluePax Spamliner

Posted by iquit on 13 October 2017 - 03:33 AM in General AE Discussion

As someone is overeagerly advocating hub spam left and right, others may want to be aware that it doesn't work all the time.

#247198 AE Running A Little Slower Than Usual

Posted by iquit on 13 October 2017 - 03:28 AM in General AE Discussion

"Arrival"-Combobox is very slow (10-15 seconds).

Data collectors continue to add new airports to the database, smaller devices with limited memory can't hold such a long list without swapping.

#246632 Memory expansion in R Alpha?

Posted by iquit on 10 October 2017 - 02:00 AM in General AE Discussion

How about lowering memory capacity further so that you can't purchase anymore at around 5000 aircraft instead? Whoever wants more can pay for the hosting.

#246631 Why does Zortan hate A320s so much?

Posted by iquit on 10 October 2017 - 01:55 AM in General AE Discussion

IDK, I don't read posts from those who spam the forum with IDKs or how much they hate spams.

#246630 More options for rankings

Posted by iquit on 10 October 2017 - 01:53 AM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

Regional rankings will still be dominated by biggest country in the region.

The proper way to raise viability of small countries is a more robust competition model where you can't get away from competitors with blue pax. Competition should make US airlines survivable but hard to excel.

If you're sick of wimpy spamliners who only know how to "win" from a big country, make it a challenge for yourself to win from a small country. It is still possible if you know what you're doing.

#246629 Nostalgia Games

Posted by iquit on 10 October 2017 - 01:42 AM in Other Games

Lode Runner

Aerobiz Supersonic (and many other KOEI games)

Jagged Alliance

Unnatural Selection

#243535 Yuxi

Posted by iquit on 06 September 2017 - 01:42 AM in General AE Discussion

we dont need 15 threads about it

Locking a thread simply give a special privilege to the original poster to raise his private issue while denying the same right to everyone else. It cannot and will not silence the public, it can only create more discontent.

#243534 Best Seat Configuration

Posted by iquit on 06 September 2017 - 01:39 AM in General AE Discussion

I often see players with far too much F/C demand

There is a $9999 cap on the ticket price; when you can't raise them any further, all you can do is increase the seats. Another example where limits discourage realism.

#243064 AE should be pay to win

Posted by iquit on 30 August 2017 - 10:52 PM in General AE Discussion

Tell me that my airline doesn't have a chance of surviving in the real world. Come at me.

Sorry, can't be bothered to look at airlines of players who don't deserve my attention, but here's a tip if you're to run a real world airline:

Disgruntled passengers will swear and curse in every airline forum in their pathetic attempts to deceive you into thinking they deserve to be pampered like a princess with their $1 fare. But in the end of the day they will patronize airlines with competitive prices. IFS don't matte,.you can safely ignore those losers.
