Compared to the B737-800:

  1. They're cheaper by quite a bit in AE
  2. They have less fuel flow in AE
  3. They crash less IRL

Well, according to the Aviation Safety Network, the 737-800 has had 12 hull loses, while the A320 has had 33. The 737-800 is newer than the A320, but still, I wouldn't make the claim that they crash more.

Still don't get why he hates them though.

Well a person from the Vancouver/Seattle area would logically love Boeing more than Airbus, would they not? Plus, Boeing has a better range on its fleet than Airbus, the 737 can go all the way from 140-220 seats, while the A320 series goes from 160-220 (not counting the A318, which is like a wider slower not-at-all-like-a-Concorde Concorde). Besides, AE doesn't really matter as far as aviation goes.

The A318 is like the same size as the 736, the 319 like the 737, the 320 like the 738 and the a321 like the 739. I don't understand what you mean by better range.

Because A320s are legit boring as all hell. For some people, that is an instant turn off. 737s have at least a little bit of character. I use them in some of my airlines because they normally suit my needs well. Being UK based, that kinda makes sense. I went to the Airbus factory last July. It was a spectacle to behold. I'm sure the boeing one is too, but it's a bit harder to reach for me :P .

It's even in the AirBUS name. They are buses with wings, that happen to be somewhat comfortable outside cattle cabin

True. Firstly, Marb1, please stop it. PM me next time jeez! Next, Boeing factory is way more impressive than airbus, I've seen tons of pictures of airbus, and Boeing was such an awesome place to visit, it's just stunning. Airbus is so small they have to put the A350s in diagonally to make them fit between the walls :P Boeing, they have enough space to fit two 747s side by side in that thing - its insane. Next, airbuses have always been worse flight experiences for me, and I'm very against them, so I'd recommend not arguing with me about it, I get violent, once i had an instagram fight in a comments section max vs neo which lasted for a week, I still won. Next, A318 is TRASH! Way less profits IMO than the 737-600/737-500. Also, Airbus planes do crash more, when you use the ratio of time since A320 introduction to crashes and the same for the 737-800, A320 loses by far, way more crashes, plus, as i said, a less comfy plane, especially in economy. Since I've never flown business or first, can't judge about that, but still. IRL, A320 does cost more than 737, so another reason not to if you're running a somewhat realistic airline.

Oh another reason. 737 comes out in the early 70s/late 60s. A320 comes out in late 80s, so it doesn't work as well, and the 737 is one of the earliest profitable planes other than DC-9. DC-8 and 707 may as well be wide body.

I've been on a Frontier A319 from Trenton To Minneapolis a few years ago. It was pretty cold and not a very good experience. I've had good and bad experiences on Airbus and Boeing

It also depends on the airline, Frontier is an ultra-low-cost carrier, so yeah...

I've said this before, but surely the comfort level says more about the airline than the aircraft. Flying a Ryanair 737 will be much less comfortable than a mainline A320, same as an Easyjet A319 will be much less comfortable than a mainline 737.

yeah yeah but let's compare mainline if you want to. Delta mainline A319/A320 usually don't have entertainment and have old seats. Their 737-800s usually have entertainment and newer seats.

What I have seen is that A320s have been abused by airlines like Frontier too much. That is why a lot of people hate A320. The 737s are operated by "good" LCC like Southwest. Although there is one exception for A320: JetBlue.
