now, by the seat arrangement attached, apparently Singapore Airlines is using 30 © and 259 (Y), with no first class (this aircraft is used for Japan routes). that means 289/440 or 65% out of max capacity.

I've been dying to know what is the best legroom % configuration to get into green level? Is 70% enough? Because below that would be very tough to make money.

For instance A330-300 holds 440 pax. Change it to 70% that would be 308 pax maximum --- 12 (F) 24© 272 (Y). Does this configuration can improve the legroom level? Or should i decrease it even more to 60%, that would too much?

Anyone out there in success to get the best config without sacrificing too much profit?

and i thought 70% capacity is enough already ....

Take bonds. I took 10 million. Dont take them in the beginning and mid month, that'a when you need to pay wages and maintenance. Take it on 7-10th or after 17th until end of month. So when interests are charged, no problem to pay.

Then use max 70% to lease A320 or B734, use them on 2-3 citiea in permutation so your gates will be fully utilised. Ofcourse you need to find profitable and empty routes.

Once you hit more than 500k DOP, you can lease more planes, keep an eye your cash balance.

Do this in 5 months your cash would be more than 30 million.

How low is it? I've seen someone dropped to $1 before and i can still survived. Providing do not change your price and frequency plus you need to add on better IFS and better seat pitch. Then wait until the competition die by itself because that is money losing scheme.

Pretoria, i agree with the idea to against opening hub to "attack" domestic route. What i meant is the cross continent connect. In real life, there are several airports used for this purpose.

SIN for Kangaroo route - Qantas, British Airways, Emirates use Changi Airport to hop across South East Asia to Australia continent, but they do not operate inside Australian domestic routes, hence, LHR-DXB-SIN-SYD only.

or TPE, NRT and HNL used for Pacific crossing stop over. If i'm not mistaken, today the only airline to be able to cross Pacific directly is SIA, with its A340-600, from SIN to LAX. The rests need to hop.

Well, i just read the older posts in this forum, and it seems the developer has an idea to introduce this feature.

I completely agree with you regarding "the conditions" to open the overseas hub. It should be limited and costly expensive to able to do it.

I would like to make an suggestion to be considered especially for realistic worlds; that is to be able to open overseas hub.

Now we can't set up an overseas hub for connecting flights (unless it's open world). Everytime we try to do this, we'll be prompted that due to political restrictions, you can't set up this route.

My suggestion:
We can open an overseas hub with A LIMIT. it can be only one or two maximum.
or, you can limit the openness only to certain countries only.
For example; in real life, Qantas Australia is able to open a hub in SIN. On daily basis, SIN becomes a connecting point for Qantas' Kangaroo route. (Kangaroo route is a route from London to Australia by flying over Europe to South East Asia and then to Australia).

If not, then there is no way that we can fly from Sydney to western Europe destinations. The farthest that an aircraft's range is only a little bit over 9000 (which is A350-900R).

Yang penting:
1. Memory RAM besar + bisa diexpand. Multi slot
2. HD besar
3. VGA card besar dan wajib bisa diexpand. Banyak laptop yg VGA card nya gak bisa ditambah daya. Lama lama lemot terutama game yg graphic nya canggih.

New Zealand? saya tdk pegang data tapi saya pastikan NZ bukan target market konsumen Indonesia. Australia yes, SYD and MEL, banyak mahasiswa Indonesia disana. Target yg paling sensible adalah Far East Asia. Flight ke PVG, HKG, ICN, TPE selalu penuh. Demand masih besar. Saya sering pp Shanghai, selalu diatas 85% load factor. Yang agak lega itu SQ, kalau pulang saya biasa minta seat di belakang di deretan tengah 3-4-3, malam2 bisa tidur selonjoran.

Kalau saya jadi JT, pasti rute2 ini yg akan diincar.

nah bener kan indonesia mulai dilirik ama new zaeland, masih baru 1 maskapai lho..


Yap isinya pasti Kiwis semua yang mau holiday ke Bali. Kalau dilihat dari sisi NZ, Bali mungkin attractive.
Kalau dilihat dari sisi Indo, NZ is not attractive. NZ bukan pasar populer orang Indonesia. Tapi kalau pun mau buka rute, harusnya ke Christchurch, bukan Auckland atau Wellington. Christchurch sekarang isinya singaporean, chinese, japan and korean yang pada mau camping ke situs Lord of The Rings :)

Pengadaan jenis pesawat tertentu pasti ada alasan di baliknya. Kalau saya tebak, 787 dipilih JT karena ada deal special antara mereka dengan Boeing selama ini. Mungkin dari financing nya lebih attractive atau ada discount, ini sangat make sense dan logical kalau dilihat dari segi business.

Kenapa bukan A330 saja yang seat nya lebih banyak? Bukan berarti seat lebih banyak maka lebih baik, musti dilihat lagi load factor nya bisa nutup gak?
Deal value investment nya nutup gak? atau base cost maintenance per hour nya nutup gak? dsb...

Terlepas dari business logic, dan dilihat dari segi kasat mata, airline adalah front terdepan suatu negara di luar negeri. Citra sebuah negara bisa dikategorikan berdasarkan dari jenis pesawatnya (dan juga dari airportnya). Makin kaya negaranya, otomatis makin keren dan canggih pesawatmya. Emirates, Singapore Airlines, Etihad, Cathay itu contohnya. Negara super makmur tidak mungkin kalau pakai pesawat "biasa-biasa". Nah, kalau negara kantong "pas-pasan" kayak Indonesia ini yang nanggung-nanggung. Mau pakai pesawat besar, demand nya ada gak? Kalaupun demand nya ada, duitnya ada gak?

Indonesia dulu pernah jaya tahun 80an. GA dulu hebat, Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich Kloten, Paris itu mah biasa tiap hari ada, terbang dari Halim.
Saya masih ingat waktu masih kecil jaman dulu di TVRI tahun 80an tiap malam sehabis Dunia Dalam Berita pasti ada tayangan jadwal Garuda untuk besok, berderet itu destination worldwide. Yang paling keren ya itu Halim - Biak - Honolulu - Los Angeles. Setelah krismon, habis semua, tinggal kenangan.

Sekarang sudah mulai bangkit, tapi sudah ketinggalan jauh. Mudah2an dengan mulai bangkitnya GA pelan-pelan bisa kembali lagi kayak dulu. Terobosan JT kalau jadi nihh ini 787, akan jadi breakthrough yang sangat bagus buat angkat nama Indonesia.

787 harusnya sih untuk rute cross continent atau minimal untuk medium haul Asia spt HKG, NRT, PEK, PVG atau ke Australia SYD, MEL.
Demand nya besar dari Jakarta, pax nya 787 juga pas, sekitar 230-250 untuk economy. Business bisa sekitar 20-30 pax. Dan juga karena paling ringan bobotnya dibanding 767 atau A330-200, ini akan hemat bahan bakar. Not mentioning software dan hardware nya yg diclaim paling canggih up to date.

Harusnya memang 787 akan jadi terdepan di kelas 200-250 pax untuk penerbangan diatas 3 jam. Jadi saya setuju banget kalau ada 787 wira-wiri di Indonesian airspace and out.

Sudah terlalu lama airline Indonesia memakai aircraft kecil dan nongkrong di airport2 luar negeri. Terakhir ke Bangkok naik Garuda cuma kebagian 737-800. Mendarat di Suvarnabhumi parkir di sebelah SQ 777, MH A330, dan wide body lainnya dari airline luar negeri.
Malu juga lah.

Lion sebenarnya tidak murni-murni amat sebagai low cost carrier. Memang dia lebih murah daripada Garuda, tapi relatif lebih mahal dari airline-airline alay lainnya di sini.
787 kalau sampai jadi, pasti buat rute international. Seat nya sekitar 250 untuk economy, jadi tidak sedikit juga. Rata-rata 777-200 nya SQ cuma 270an untuk economy. Jadi pas lah.

Kalau beneran ada 787, asik nih.
