What airport are you flying to, because if it's DCA, LGA or DAL they have range restrictions on them (ie you cannot fly to airports more than 1500 miles from these places)

please don't kill us we're just the aquabats

Just want to make sure, you're based in UK and wanted to fly from USA,am I right?
Of course it's not possible in R1 because as far as I remember it's a Realistic World and you can only fly from your home country.

REALISTIC worlds mean you cannot do things unrealistically, doesn't take a genius. You seem suprised of this which im assuming you dont realise airlines in the real world cant fly from other countries (unless its EU openskies or whatever).

Because of Open Skies Agreement AE has not yet implemented. If it is at any rate, we'll have British and Australian carriers flying from SIN to any place they'd want. Makes no sense eh? :P

If I recall correctly, Delta are not allowed to pick up passengers in Asia on long haul flights from America with a stop over.

It's the same for British Airways who fly from Heathrow to Hong Kong and onto Sydney, they are not allowed to pick up any passengers in Hong Kong.

Singapore Airlines flies from Manchester to Munich and onto Singapore, but they are not allowed to drop any passengers off at Munich.

The list goes on...

Your tone is far from helpful. If you can't stop yourself from being patronising, kindly stop posting.

In older versions of AE, any airline used to be allowed to fly any route. We found that this allowed for airlines flying all over the world with 1000s of aircraft, which is far from realistic. We decided to split the AE universe into "Open" worlds, where you can fly anywhere on any route, and "Realistic" worlds, where all of your routes must start and finish in your home country. Those that wanted to create mega-airlines could play "Open" worlds and those that wanted a bit more realism and a bit more of a challenge moved to "Realistic" Worlds.
(The only exceptions in realistic worlds to the "home country" rule is if your country is in an "openskies" country - for instance, if your home country is in the EU, you can fly flights within the EU without going through your home country - but you can only fly outside of the EU from your own country.)

In real life, airlines typically can only fly routes from their own countries, for various political, regulatory and even economic reasons.
However, individual airlines in real life are able to secure individual agreements (outside of openskies treaties) with governments and authorities of other countries, to allow aircraft to fly from those countries. There are differing levels of agreement and will vary from airline to airline. For instance, in some cases, the regulator may allow specific foreign airlines the right to stop, refuel and set-down passengers but not pick them up. In other cases, an airline may be allowed to do this and pick up passengers.
Either way, there are too many variations for us to easily model this, especially considering the fact that it is airline-specific in the real world. In order to maintain the "realistic" feel to the "Realistic" worlds, we decided not to model this at this time.

Why not allow an EU airline to fly from another EU country to the US?
