It'll be there immediately. If you already had 5 leased gates and built a 5 gate terminal, your flights from the leased gates will be transferred to your terminal. Therefore, your five-gate terminal will be full and to add more flights, you will need to construct more gates.

#242286 Aircraft delivery cheating

the number of aircraft in service is higher than the total number of orders
Perhaps because starting aircraft are in service but don't count as orders?

250 flights a week between JFK and ATL on just oneaAirline with more than 3500 seats a day and another one with 144 flights a week between those two airports in 1958. REALLY??? Somethings needs to be done against this spamlining, at least on a server that calls it's worlds realistic. This is pushing the fun in the game into the deep.
That isn't spamlining. That's recklessness and stupidity. Real spamlining is an art.

#240503 Early game
Posted by Michael. on 29 July 2017 - 09:55 PM in General AE Discussion
How do people get 40 planes within 3 days of a new world starting.
By ordering multiple aircraft families. It's possible to hit 100 aircraft after a year if you lease multiple families and maintain a backlog (i.e. always have aircraft on order). Most aircraft that people use early in the game only have a two week or three week gap between each delivery.
I see that you have ordered just one aircraft family in each of your current airlines - that's one aircraft every two weeks meaning the absolute maximum you can reach after a year is 24 (1 starting aircraft and 23 leased since you have to wait four weeks - not two - for the first delivery).
#240409 AE not working
Posted by Michael. on 27 July 2017 - 07:37 AM in General AE Discussion
Have 55 idle aircraft and can't do anything with them. Still super slow right now.
I too have over 50 aircraft idle and can do nothing, Everthing else seems to work but i cant set up a route. That page refuses to open. - Im now praying to Lord Yuxi for support
I've 930 after a lengthy absence.
I've noticed a lot slower game operation since the reboot.
Your airlines are definitely the problem
#240387 AE not working
Posted by Michael. on 26 July 2017 - 07:44 PM in General AE Discussion
It still doesn't work well for me. It takes ages to load.
Changing aircraft types is slow, but other parts seem to be moving right along.
I haven't been here in a month so I can't compare today's speed to the last few days but right now I can't load route pages. Everything else seems to be alright though (all I've done is check finances and sold a few aircraft - nothing weird or wonderful but I've run into no difficulty there).
#239302 Fairly Successful Airline - R3

I bet you I can get it into the top 10.
I'd be very skeptical but I don't doubt your ability to produce excellent airlines. If you do succeed, I will name every one of my airlines after you.

#239125 Old Aircraft (sell or scrap)
Posted by Michael. on 24 June 2017 - 09:34 PM in New Players and Questions
Happened to me a couple of times with extremely old aircraft...I don't remember which exactly, but now and again with very old ATRs.
I have some rather old Stratocruisers in R1 - a completely neglected airline. Sale value is $42 but scrap value is $10. There are still another 9 years in the game world so I want to see how low the valuation can go.

False. Unfortunately, reputation makes no difference here.

#238959 Credit score???
Posted by Michael. on 20 June 2017 - 09:44 AM in New Players and Questions
Its less about the actual score. Sub-par credit would get you a loan, but the APR will be sky high.
Score does matter since a poor credit rating puts a cap on the number of aircraft one can lease. It often happens that a person raises too much capital and then cannot use it because their leasing capabilities have been limited by the poor credit rating.
#238865 Average Route Reputation Issue

#238737 Average Route Reputation Issue
Posted by Michael. on 16 June 2017 - 10:17 AM in New Players and Questions
The exact formula is unknown except to Yuxi, and maybe the guy who updates some of the data
Frequency 30%
On-time performance 25%
Legroom 25%
IFS 20%
But don't tell anyone.
#238711 It's time to pay
Posted by Michael. on 15 June 2017 - 05:37 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests
First off, AE's unique selling point is the fact that it is completely free, unlike all the other Airline Management Simulation games, which are either paid to begin with, or have in-game purchases.
Now, the fact of the matter is that in spite of, and as a result of the costs involved, most other Airline Management Sims have vastly superior and intricate features, allowing for greater realism and control over airlines, for players.
Obviously, the fact that some of these features are lacking in AE is the tradeoff for it being free, but to impose a cost onto AE is it currently exists would deprive it of its unique selling point, and in the process, make it nothing more than a diluted version of the other Sims online. This could potentially kill AE, as any rational player (unaffected by emotion or brand loyalty), would simply switch to another Sim, with better features, given that there is no difference in the cost they have to pay.
This would mean that imposing a cost to play AE would drive away not just casual players, but even serious players. Subsequently, the cost, far from bringing revenue to the AE developers, could dry up whatever donations they receive as of now. Of course, smart pricing could be an option, but it would still cause a substantial loss of players, given that lack of costs make AE unique.
Extra features would allow AE to compete better with other online Sims, but these new features, likely in the form of AE4, would never materialise, since that imposition of a cost in the face of plenty of other Sims for players to choose from, would dry up perhaps even existing streams of revenue.
Ironically imposing a cost to develop AE4 could actually prevent it from being developed.
As a result, it would be wiser to explore other revenue streams, including general donations, crowdfunding specifically to develop AE4 (this would require a deadline, and a specific outline of what AE4 would comprise of), displaying advertisements, and/or imposing a cost only for the extra features within AE, such as the forums (although I personally support keeping AE completely free, in addition to the fact that the forums are an essential part of the game, particularly for new players to benefit from the knowledge of more experienced players, as well as for developers/admins to communicate with players).
Would now be a bad time to inform you that this entire thread (and basically everything I've said in it) is one big piss take?
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the fact I volunteered on the Bernie campaign for president.

#237744 What I’ve learned so far in AE
Posted by Michael. on 30 May 2017 - 09:48 PM in New Players and Questions
When picking a HQ, stay out of the country's biggest airport (unless it's you've limited choice). Profit at the biggest airport is only easy at the very beginning but then the competition hits.
Pay close attention to the ratios of F:C. You should have 6 business class seats for every first class seat. That's a fairly minor thing that very few people pick up on. I would strongly endorse this as a general guide for new people.
#237698 500 aircraft limit
Posted by Michael. on 30 May 2017 - 07:27 AM in New World Requests
Perhaps aircraft, like in the real world, should be withdrawn from service on a specified date. You can still Tridents flying in 2015 or even later in AE.
It's 2010 in R1 and I have Stratocruisers worth $159. I'm going to leave them for the remaining 15 years to see how bad it gets.
#237613 How do I star a really good airline?
Posted by Michael. on 28 May 2017 - 09:27 PM in New Players and Questions
I guess ir depends where you're based... for instance in Argentina there's not much demand on the shorter routes (domestic) and only a few regional routes have a really good demand. So if you're based in Argentina you've got to look for the long international routes to make some serious money. I may be wrong since I started playing a couple of months ago but from what I could tell that seems to be the case.
Yes, you have a point. Forgive my ignorance!. I suppose what I was saying was short haul usually enables better margins but in such cases, short-haul success is difficult.

2. Longer routes: I see you're based in the U.S. so it's easier for you to make such routes. I'd consider FLL to DEN a longer route. You should do this because longer routes have higher ticket prices which means more revenue per flight.
Nope - short is better. Everything else is spot on though.

Don't take loans. Period.
Taking a $5 million is pretty standard. I never run into trouble with lease limits with just a $5 million bond
#237506 Tips for Spamlining

While it may not be the most profitable to compete, it is sort of fun actually, unless they start adding wayyyyyyy too many pax, then it's just frustrating.
I started an airline in S3-A and said screw it, I'll compete with everyone. Doesn't look like I'll be winning this world ...
