Ehhh, I would prefer route authorities over that. An airline could snap up long haul routes and annoy the heck out of those that can afford the aircraft to fly them.

I have a 744ER, and I like it. Lower purchase price, no range issues, and only a marginally higher operating cost. However, I intend on making the A310 the mainstay of my longhaul fleet.

Don't bring prices to low either. If someone has a monopoly on a route with a much larger plane, and you break it, and lower the price by about 50%, your competitor will to, and will be able to undercut you.

If I recall, you're only not allowed to operate a route that another carrier is in. So if he comes to your hub, kick him out.
