#213997 Aircraft Missing From R0's Market

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 13 May 2016 - 06:38 PM in New Players and Questions

Now, this isn't about an aircraft's production randomly ending, but rather something that has been bothering me for the past few days. The 747-200B and 747-200C has become available for preorders a few days ago in World R0, there's no 747-100 in sight on the "Order New Aircraft" page. I have no idea if this is a glitch, or if the 747-100 has been disabled in R0, but I thought I would bring it to the community's attention so someone could possibly fix this.

#213316 [ACCEPTED] NicholaiGaul-SkyWorld Application

-Username: NicholaiGaul
-Profile link: http://www.airline-e...5-nicholaigaul/

-Airline(s) you operate:( Do this for all your airlines that want to join)

Name: Paw Airways International
HQ: Pittsburgh International - PIT, USA
Usual world: Real Worlds or Special Worlds

-Current Airline(s) in operation:

Name: Paw Airways International
Current world: R5
HQ: Pittsburgh International - PIT, USA
Hubs: Pittsburgh International - PIT, USA is the only hub so far. Will be expanding to other airports soon.
Aircraft: A321-100, A340-200, and 757-200. List of aircraft will change overtime for expansion and lowering number of slots used by the airline.
Reputation: As of October 12th, 1994 in R5, the airline's current reputation is sitting at 80.
IFE: The latest In-Flight Entertainment rating that's currently in use for the airline is rated at two-stars. Better IFE will come later on, as I'm still experimenting with IFE.
IFS: In-Flight Service is at a fairly good rating for the three classes. Two stars for First and Economy, and three stars for Business Class. This should change as I'm also experimenting with IFS as well.
About your airline: Paw Airways International, or just Paw Airways for short, is an airline based in Pittsburgh, PA, and the original goal of the airline is to connect one of the most under-appreciated world-class cities in the airline industry with the world. The airline's name, Paw, is actually an acronym, standing for Pittsburgh Around the World, or can be used as People Around the World, as the overall goal is not only connecting the city of Pittsburgh with the world, but other cities too, such as Indianapolis, St. Louis, Reno, and the list goes on. Not only I have the airline set up hubs in unlikely cities that most other airlines won't associate with that turn out successful in the end, but I also fly unlikely planes that not that many people choose to fly, such as Lockheed's L-1011 Tristar or Airbus's A340 Family for example. However, back in the first world I played in, S3-A back in late 2015, I ended up coming out on top with a few airlines with the #1 best reputation. It wasn't easy though, but I managed to pull it off.

-Are you currently in an alliance?: In World R0 and R5, yes. R0, I'm not part of SkyWorld, and I never seen the alliance in that world as of yet. In S3-B, I am currently not in an alliance in that world.

-Why do you want to join SkyWorld: I feel a lot more welcomed in the SkyWorld Alliance. Probably because the leader of the alliance, PilotTom, has personally messaged me, along with creating a gift for me, being the Paw Airways livery. If that doesn't speak kindness, then I don't know what will. SkyWorld feels a lot more friendlier, compared to other alliances in the community that I have joined in the past, like Star Alliance and OneWorld, where I felt like I didn't fit in, and stood out like that socially awkward kid that everybody wants to ignore in school. I'm rather happy that I'm applying to SkyWorld, as I feel welcomed into this alliance!

-How many days a week do you play: All seven days of the week! However, that may change since every few months I do go offline for an extended amount of days for vacation or to attend particular conventions. But for most of the year, I do have Airline Empires pulled up on my desktop, as I love to stay on the ball to make my airline a great airline.

-Any Questions?

None! That's it for me! :D

#223859 [CANCELLED] PolarisWings - SkyWorld Application

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 20 September 2016 - 04:03 PM in ᴀʀᴄʜɪᴠᴇ

Hello PolarisWings!

Thank you for submitting your application to the SkyWorld Alliance. Right now it's being processed by our team of admins, and once it gets enough approvals, we will accept you into the SkyWorld Alliance as an honorary regular member!

I hate to say this, but I'm not running SkyWorld in R4. I don't even know if PilotTom is back in that world or Hcarde1. However, we will be able to accept you as a member no matter which world you are part of the alliance in! :)

We will get back to you with the good news in about a week or less if you are in or not, so please be patient!

Thank you, & stay awesome!

#207680 Airline In R6 Looking To Join An Alliance

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 27 January 2016 - 07:31 PM in Alliances

Thank you very much for the invite, Dartonix. However, I want to clear something that I forgot to place in my original post. Paw Airways is not a low cost airline. In my eyes, I really don't like the low cost airline model for personal reasons, as I do travel on airlines every year here in the United States. I try to avoid the low cost airlines as I do pay attention to one's amount to detail, and the only airlines I do fly on are ones with a positive reputation by the passengers. I'm still learning the way how this game works, but my theory is that if you can win passengers over by the on-board entertainment and service, as well as the variety of destinations and high quality aircraft, those passengers are going to want to come back, as they had a great time on the airline; And best of all, it's affordable for those passengers to get the best in quality. I can relate to it too, since I use to be a wandering passenger, until my first flight with JetBlue Airways in 2009, and they won me over.

Long story short, I appreciate the invite to your alliance, but sadly, I decline the invite, as Paw Airways is more than a low cost airline. With everything I have on board, it's more comparable to airlines like JetBlue, Virgin America, WestJet, Porter Airlines, Air Berlin, or Etihad. Paw's an airline that I always make it go above and beyond it's A-Game on not only being profitable, but also a success with passengers, and connecting cities with the entire world.

However, I still wish you the best of luck with TravelNow in World R6!

#207669 Airline In R6 Looking To Join An Alliance

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 27 January 2016 - 12:32 PM in Alliances

Hello everyone in the Airline Empires community!

I know I have started a year and a half late in World R6, but at least I'm getting the airline up onto its feet. Usually within the first year of operation in a new world, I would be sent an invite from a random alliance, which unfortunately, I haven't been yet. So currently, my tiny little airline is vulnerable and incapable of battling 299 other airlines in R6. I am making this forum to make myself stand out a bit, and hopefully get some attention by other players that are running an alliance in World R6, seeing if anyone would help bring a late starting airline into their alliance.

For those wondering about the state of my airline in R6, Paw Airways is still a small airline of 10 ATR 72-500, and 8 Bombardier Q400s with 7 more on the way. The airline's currently based in Pittsburgh, PA, and is still its only hub. The airline is currently making approximately $1,500,000 per day, with a valuation of $44,155,857. This will soon be increased as I am buying more aircraft out of their leases with the money saved in the airline's bank account. Eventually, I'm hoping I'll be able to invest into replacing my fleet of turboprops with new A321-200 jetliners for more domestic flights throughout the continent, and eventually invest into the Airbus A340 for international flights out of Pittsburgh, to other continents of the world.

Not all of my activities will be within the city of Pittsburgh, as I will be eventually expand to other cities through out the United States, but so far I'm undecided on what the next hub is, as I'm still improving current operations in Pittsburgh.

Thank you all for reading!

#210246 What aircraft to buy?

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 20 March 2016 - 05:26 PM in New Players and Questions

Well, if you're looking for another good large aircraft for your fleet, I suggest the L-1011 Tristars from Lockheed. Even though some DC-10 models have an advantage in range, and yet most L-1011 models fly over 5,000 miles, the L-1011 is a better aircraft to fly, since its monthly lease is cheaper, and the fuel flow is also lower than the DC-10, making it a cheaper aircraft to operate. I've flone the Tristar before on AE, and I was thrilled with how good of an aircraft it is! Flew both the L-1011-250 and -500, and I was not disappointed in what the aircraft were capable of!

#205190 Legroom

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 27 October 2015 - 11:40 AM in General AE Discussion

Yes, it does!

Like for the A320-100 or -200 for example, their maximum seating capacity on here is 189 seats. When you do look at the airlines in real life flying A320s, you don't see any airlines flying A320s with 189 seats, because you'll literally be packed like sardines onto the plane, since there's no legroom. Typically, most airlines with the A320 in real life would settle for anything between 140 seats to 160, just to be sure that they get the configuration that the airline believes is right for getting the most out of that plane, and still have passengers feeling comfortable with the legroom.

Sure, my airline that I play as on here is "different" than others, but I still either come up with my own configurations, or use real seat configurations that are up on the web, for when it comes to doing the cabin configuration with the airliners on here.

#213334 Why are there only 24 days in a month?

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 05 May 2016 - 08:40 PM in New Players and Questions

I was wondering the same too. I can understand the days going up to 28, since there's usually 28 days in February, as long as it isn't a leap year. But having each month have 24 days? Why?

#220358 [ACCEPTED] Man Of Aviation - SkyWorld Application

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 24 July 2016 - 06:14 PM in ᴀʀᴄʜɪᴠᴇ

Hello Man Of Aviation!

Right now we have another application being processed right now by the admins at SkyWorld, but you're next on the list!

In the mean time, I'll be more than happy to answer your questions!

To me from what I experience, I say that it would be best to save a three-class configuration, basically adding first class to an aircraft's seating configuration, I say the best time to add first class is when you start receiving aircraft built to carry more than 200 passengers in its standard configuration. Such good examples would be the Airbus A321, or the Boeing 757-300, To me, I say that all of the British Aviation RJs are too small for first class. The RJ100, along with all of the other British Aviation RJs, are built for primarily regional or short-range routes, where you'll probably not see so many First Class demand. From speaking from experience, having business class seats on regional aircraft, I highly approve, as a lot of other airlines are trying to accommodate for business class passengers on their regional aircraft.

And as for your question about IFE, I say that the Avro RJ100 is not too small for IFE. However, for the Saab 340A, I think that aircraft is too small. For me, the smallest aircraft I fly in my fleet is the ATR 72, which I fly all of the different series, and I even also use my IFE on the ATR 72 as well, since the aircraft carries more than 50 passengers, and has a 500+ mile range. Plus too when you look at real life aviation, there are some ATR 72 aircraft already out there flying with IFE installed on them too. I don't know which airlines though, but I can reassure you that it's already being done. Basically, if I was in your shoes Man Of Aviation, I would install IFE only onto aircraft that has a maximum operating range of over 500 miles.

Well I hope my answers are able to help you out in some way! Feel free to reply back to me or privately message me if you have any more questions to ask, and we'll be getting around to reviewing over your application with the rest of the SkyWorld admin team shortly! :)

#209906 Political Restrictions

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 16 March 2016 - 08:09 AM in New Players and Questions

Well, you did say that your airline was a US based airline, right? Well, Tokyo and Hong Kong are not territories of the United States, like how Puerto Rico and Guam are. You can still fly into Tokyo and Hong Kong, but not operate on routes between the two cities without stopping through a US city or a US territory.

#205361 Newbie questions

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 02 November 2015 - 08:31 PM in New Players and Questions

Well, it takes some time for a new player to get the hang of how Airline Empires work. I'm still not even a full month into playing the game, and I already got myself familiarized on most of the game. However, I believe I can answer some of your questions.

1. Well, keep in mind that Airline Empires is a more realistic airline tycoon game, and so far is the most realistic one I've played to date, so when you're managing your routes or setting up a brand new one, it doesn't tell you that, oh, this is First Class, Business, and so on. Instead, the game uses a system that some airlines would in real life. F being First Class, C being Business Class, and Y being Economy. And as for how ticket prices work, I've never seen altering the business class tickets having an affect on economy. Basically, business class needs to cost more than economy class. Otherwise passengers want to pay the cheaper price for more luxury, compared to the more expensive price for less luxury. You basically got to make sure the ticket prices are fair for a certain class people. You can tell if you have a good ticket price by changing them, then saving them to see what the new price's impact is like on the route in terms of load factor for the route's weekly flights, and the overall daily profit from the route. I try to hit that sweet spot of having the load factor barely at 100%, or at exactly 100%, but yet trying to get the most amount of money off of that specific route from one certain class of passengers.

2. Well, let me go on ahead and explain how a route's frequency works. It basically means the number of weekly flights to that destination, and how convenient it is to passengers if they want to travel on that specific route. For myself, If I'm operating on a route with no competition what-so-ever, such as Pittsburgh International Airport to Syracuse Hancock, I try to set up a good amount of weekly flights that would fill up the market in terms of passenger demand. Of course, I prefer putting in not too little flights, which means less profit for your airline; And not too many flights that have some leaving not full. Once again, like the ticket prices, there's a sweet spot too for the number of weekly flights.

As for a route's reputation, that all depends on what you have available in terms of both In-Flight Entertainment, and In-Flight Services. In-Flight Entertainment can vary on how you want to entertain your passengers on board, to help a long flight feel a lot shorter, which could be from the cabin movie projectors you'd find at the start of 1961 in the game, to some IFE systems you see today like Audio On-Demand, Video On-Demand, flight tracker, and Live TV, just to name a few. And then there's the In-Flight Services, In-Flight Services is key for helping your passengers feel more comfortable during their flight, such as in terms of catering (food) and some accessories that you would find on the ground, and that a lot of airlines in real life offers. These accessories can be pillows and blankets, newspapers, and comfort kits, just to name a few.

If you can get a good balance of both In-Flight Entertainment installed on your aircraft in your fleet, and a good amount of In-Flight Services for your passengers, then it'll boost up your routes reputation a lot, which would mean more passengers flying on your airline!

3. Well, like what I said earlier, it's all done by weekly flights when you set up new flights. Even though the game shows its income as daily profit, flights are usually managed by how many you do on a specific flight per week. A good example would be the real life airline, JetBlue Airways. For them, they do flights from Orlando International to Syracuse Hancock 7 to 10 times a week, because that route doesn't have as much demand as Orlando International to New York's JFK, which that one has 35+ weekly flights. Like what I said earlier, there's a sweet spot for your weekly flights on your routes to make the most out of them. So, there's no need to do these huge mathematical ratios to make things even for all of your aircraft in your fleet. Just use the hours that your aircraft has available on which routes you want to fly them on, and you're all good! As long as you're getting the most use out of your aircraft, and it's still making a good profit for your airline, then you're doing the right thing with your fleet and route.

4. As for on-time performance, I'm not entirely sure on how that works.

5 & 6. Good question! I really never picked that up yet. Maybe someone from the admin or development team would pick it up and fix it in the next time A.E. needs maintenance.

Well this may seem like a lot of information for you, Benem, but I hope that I did help you out in some way on getting a better understanding of Airline Empires. I wish you luck on keeping your airline up in the air!

#207949 I bought an aircraft, but, can't put it on a route

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 02 February 2016 - 07:42 AM in New Players and Questions

It's actually a simple answer, Santos.

Either A: it's due to the airport's political restriction, like how New York's LaGuardia and Washington's Reagan National only allow flights along the east coast; Or B: The airport you're wanting to send it to doesn't have a long enough runway.

I hope some of this will help clear things up better.

#209989 Fantasy Futuristic worlds

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 17 March 2016 - 06:23 AM in New World Requests

Well, one problem. If you look at the airline industry today, nobody sees what anything beyond 2030 could be like! Of course, there is Airbus working on the new A350 stretch, the A320neo, and now the A330neo, along with Boeing working on the 777X (which I still say that the 777-8X and 777-9X needs to get added to AE,) not a lot of makers see what they could make past 2030.

The same (100%). You should all recieve 1st place trophies. I think.

I can back this up, because I did get that back in S3-A, first place in terms of airline reputation, even though that there were 4 or 5 others that had a full 100% reputation like how I did.

This is very odd, indeed. SXM isn't a British island. It's part French, and part Dutch, so I see that there's no possible way that Virgin Global could have built a terminal in St. Maarten. I could see KLM or Air France set up shop in St. Maarten, but a British airline setting up shop with their own terminal in St. Maarten? It just doesn't sound right at all!

After some negotiations with the admin team at SkyWorld, we have came to an agreement to revoke the one hub guideline for your airline. Welcome to SkyWorld, Tesla!

#220353 [ACCEPTED] Tesla App to SkyWorld

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 24 July 2016 - 05:18 PM in ᴀʀᴄʜɪᴠᴇ

To answer your question, Tesla, unfortunately so.

You see, we have some guidelines that we check new applicants have for the airline they're trying to enter into our alliance, and I'm sorry, but you can't join. HOWEVER, we're still in the reviewing process with the rest of the admin team at SkyWorld. But since you don't have a hub established yet, it's highly unlikely you'll be able to get a spot at SkyWorld. Plus with the mediocre reputation you have currently, it isn't going to fly.

I give you points though for the high employee morale, as nobody has shown us that yet! So well done! :D

I think you do got something great going on with your airline, and I do wish you the best of luck with South Indian Airlines.

Like I said, you may or may not have a chance at SkyWorld, as the rest of the admin team is still reviewing your application.

Having a world where you can sabotage another airline sounds like a great idea. Yea, it is a concept from the Airline Tycoon games, which I could never figure out how to sabotage another airline, but it sounds perfect to me! You have no idea how badly I want to sabotage another airline, just so I can get an advantage! "Oh, you got a new 747 for your fleet? Well, I hope you have fun with your new gia- Oh crap! It blew up! Who could have done such a thing?!" XD

#211161 When do new airplanes appear?

Posted by NicholaiGaul on 02 April 2016 - 03:11 PM in New Players and Questions

What does it makes sense to pre order aircraft? There is no difference between ordering an aircraft 1 year before its launch date or ordering it 1 day before, right?

There is actually a few pros to preordering aircraft. One is that if you're quick enough, your airline could become the launch customer of that aircraft in that world, like how my airline, Paw Airways International, is the launch customer of the Bristol Britannia. Another good thing about preordering an aircraft is that over time, you can invest more and more into either leasing or buying them before the first delivery. This way then overtime as your airline continues to make more money, you can invest into a greater amount of aircraft, and you don't have to wait so long after you ordered your aircraft. Once production begins, they'll start rolling in one after the other every two or three weeks, or whatever the delivery rate is.
