I think putting instructions for what you want someone to do is not the smartest thing to do. It gives people the impression that you want someone to work FOR you, not WITH you. Plus, there is nothing wrong with Small and Russian planes.

Unfortunately acquiring others airlines cannot be done. When I start an airline I choose 2 or 3 hubs but later change into a more Point to Point airline.

Well for example you could just set one flight between San Fran and Washington, then go set up another route between Washington and London, select the same aircraft, then set up another route between London and San Fran and select the same aircraft, all this assuming you leave the frequency on each route low enough to have enough hours on that one aircraft to do this. That's probably the closest way to do that.

Don't worry about being "realistic". You can't be really successful if you use an aircraft 8 hours a day. If your all about reputation, then replace aircraft when they are 15-20 years old, but you can keep them longer. Just be aware that the older the aircraft, the higher the maintenance cost is. To succeed, you need to find good routes with little to none competition and eventually make your way up the the big cities.

Find a route with little to none competition and make the most out of it. The key is patience and good timing with the used aircraft market. You can either save up for the big plane (737) or immediately buy up a small cheap plane (ATR, Bombardier etc.). Eventually you will be able to serve the routes that you want to.

I don't try to dominate the high demand routes completely because that will cause a big problem when other competitors come in. For a route with a demand off 2000 I would aim for 800 seats.

All you need is to keep the price lower than your competitor(s). It's hard and pointless to to get 100% market share because you'd just be losing profit. I always prefer to have at least 50%-60% on a route with one competitor.
