#157821 Oggey's Seat Map Index - For all your dirty needs!

I could tell you what 10/80 is.

One does however need to already know the business class pitch, which is easy enough to decide on.

Imo a proper thing needs uniform predetermined seating types with multiple configs per aircraft.

Basically, ceebs. ^_^

#161961 What do you like about AE?

Posted by Sheepy on 20 January 2014 - 06:51 AM in General AE Discussion

AE caters to many different airline types and playing styles.

Many basic formulas work for creating airlines, even if one must be creative in how they are applied to the AE system.

Essentially what I'm saying is that one can operate all of 737spam LCCs, regional airlines and legacy carriers with some success, and I think it's imperative we avoid being left with only 737spam LCCs after AE4, for example.

Subways?!?!

This is the surface transportation forum, not the 'below ground' one D:

I genuinely love pacers.

so B789 heading to Auckland to look shiny for ANZ.

Wonder if worth having a look, seeing as it's just a slightly longer 788.

On the other hand, could be amusing if it catches fire.

It would appear that the main original international pier in Auckland can handle at least one A380 now, which is interesting, as when there were just 2 per day they parked in the western extension pier, wonder if an A380 being at the original pier disables any other gates due to it likely being oversize.

Wonder what's next for EK in AKL, PER-AKL A380 would be amusing and one of the few possible scenarios.

Emirates fined $1.5m by the NZ high court.

HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

EK A388 on PER-AKL seems unlikely to me, there's only so much flying you can fit into a day and right now the longest layover they have at PER is 4 hours 50 minutes (arriving 01:10 depart 06:00) which is definately not enough time to get to Auckland and back :P

Alright fair point. Additional 77W service? ^_^

Not that I want to see any more of EK in Auckland.

Unless JQ plans to expand to routes that A330s cannot fly, I've personally always thought that the 787s should have been taken by QF for things like SFO, etc.

After all, it is Qantas International that is the currently struggling airline in the group, not JetStar.

However for that matter I've never much seen why it really matters who operates the plane. The fuel savings would surely be just as apparent no matter who's running the plane? One 787 replaces one A330 and saves that much money in fuel. Whether that fuel saving money is in Qantas or Jetstar seems irrelevant, and the 787 could possibly command a slight premium when run by QF

I fail to see much difference between old economy and new economy, so I think a rollout across A380s seems unnecessary due to the large costs involved.

717s should work nicely for Canberra methinks, due to high cycle low flight times and such.

Business looks decent and no doubt ahead of VA's ATRs.

As for A330 business, assuming it's fullflat, which I'm pretty sure it is from the pictures, will probably be a better product than the A380 business class, which I find a little ironic considering the A330 does shorter routes. I wonder if this is the business class we can expect to see delivered on 787s to QF, assuming they still take some.

In other news, JQ has started it's 4x weekly Lombok services with "more than 150 passengers"

I thought it cancelled, or nearly cancelled, that?

So CX is planning from next year to run HKG-ADL/CNS  4x weekly and shift HKG-BNE/MEL services to non-stop status. However the BNE-HKG service will no be retimed to leave at 01:00 which sucks for them :P

1am seems decent, as it means 'arrive in airport around 10-11pm'

What routing does HKG CNS ADL take exactly?

I seem to remember being handed a small card whilst flying CX earlier this year which said something about a 3 or 4x weekly service to HYD.

4x weekly.

10:30 pm → 1:25 am HKG-HYD S - - W - F S Cathay Pacific 649

2:55 am → 10:50 am HYD-HKG S M - - T - S Cathay Pacific 646

Awful times.

Arrival time is also important. :P

I was more asking what route HKG/CNS/ADL would take. (HKG-CNS-ADL-CNS or HKG-(ADL/CNS)-(ADL/CNS)-HKG)

The former is more convenient for paxes but the latter probably more efficient.

Nothing better than a broken 737 being stuck on an island with minimal infrastructure for fixing planes ^_^

[not that I know much about Honiara]

QF no longer booking paxes onto SAA will no doubt see most of them book with SAA direct, and those stuck with EK will no doubt be cursing the extra 10 hours.

In other news ausbt claims that Jetstar has commenced flights from Melbourne to Auckland on the 787, making this the second 787 scheduled service to Auckland, unless I forgot something. Wonder how long before JQ's AKLSIN is either cancelled or moved to a 787, as it was originally touted as one of the original 787 routes.

UA's IAH-AKL seems to have died out.

Congratulations to TN, I assume NZ has not dropped their existing 2x weekly frequencies?

As for the skycouch, I wonder if more airlines will adopt it in future years.

Old news, but this is a nice image showing the location of Auckland's planned third runway.

Expected around 2070.

Interesting regarding the victorian government and Avalon. What did they both want? Did JQ want MEL slots or what?

"Qantas has started 2014 facing even tougher times as the second of the world's leading credit rating agencies downgraded the beleaguered airline to 'junk status'."

hahahahahahah

granted, why anyone would invest in airlines, ever, for any reason other than ego, is beyond me.

NZ Herald is also indicating an Air NZ A320 leaving Melbourne declared a mayday before returning to Melbourne, fuel leak/engine troubles.

#160866 AE, for the ones of the Scandinavian sort - Aviation, News,

Yours is very nice indeed. Perhaps not thanks to you but it's well organized, on topic and active. However I see no point in coming here advertising that fact. Please try and stay on topic about Scandinavian news. Thank you. :P

I object to the implication it is in any way his.
