I'm afraid a J equipped 717 beats an ATR 72-6 any day.
Sorry beardy.

Seems odd to keep reconfigging 717s this much.

But, but, but, CS D:
Though 717 > CS.
Could 717 routes realistically grow to 738 routes?

EK A380 will operate DXB-BNE-AKL from Oct. 2nd
This improves comfort for DXB-BNE pax who got kicked off QF A330s to SIN and onto EK metal.
Also means AKL will have three ugly whale "oppression" jets arriving at about 1pm.
My understanding is that there's not enough gate space, so PREPARE THE BUSES.

so far, only 5 717s are to be reconfigured with business class to operate the CBR routes. I'm wondering if they might get IFE a la 767 iPads. that said the CBR sector lengths are quite short. perhaps the mining routes? though miners would rek the iPads.

ADL, BNE and MEL (?) would probably all allow an ipad to display a TV show or two.
Though imo gate to gate seatback IFE would be better for this sort of thing, to maximise watching time. (even if it was just fixed in place ipads with Q Streaming)

no 717s to ADL. really am waiting for a QF ADL-AKL once it has the available aircraft to give to JetConnect. would start out at 3 or 4 weekly me thinks. to connect to the EK service a rescheduling would be required.
Some hypothetical times:
EK440 3:00 DXB-ADL 21:00
EK441 23:00 ADL-DXB 6:45+1
QFxxx 23:30 ADL-AKL 5:45+1
QFxxy 7:00 AKL-ADL 11:25

Given that Brisbane flights from Wellington don't exist, and that Adelaide saw a decline in PAX, unlike Brisbane which grew 6%, it's more likely Wellington-Brisbane services will exist before Adelaide. The other issue is that Adelaide doesn't have the demand for NZ flights.

Well Qantas seem to like telling the media that they are interested in an Adelaide-Auckland service. There was previously a shortage of 737s, however with EK's BNE-AKL becoming an A380, I wonder if this will allow QF to start a 738 on ADL-AKL. I haven't crunched the numbers yet to see if capacity remains similar on whatever they have to keep the same as said by the ACCC.

We already get a four weekly A320 to Adelaide.
I swear it used to be more frequent...
