Ditto: The goal is good, but this idea is flawed and would be abused.

Yes, but all that bare metal saved AA a ton on fuel. (Less paint means the planes weigh less). Great having them all repainted and weighing more especially looking at AA's finances.

#140118 Gun Control in the United States

Benjamin Disraeli (former PM of UK) said that "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics" What he's saying is that statistics can be bent to prove whatever point you want to make, on any side of an argument, even more so on this one.

Oh dear, oh dear oh dear. Glad I didn't empty my wallet on that just yet.

Actually, per capita (100,000 people, a statistic taking into account size of countries) America's violent crime rate is well above Europe's, albeit falling steadily.

Er..Not sure what to say... anyway, back on subject, I don't see the point of civilliams keeping such powerful weapons in their homes, so Obama's Plans have my full support. PS: what is the progress of that bill?

Playing devil's advocate to Foxtrident, just two more words: Marshall Plan.

And you   havn't seen any  negro riots here.  Nobody helps. Nobody is coming.   Nobody cares.   Don't be a victim.

What? Its that sort of ignorant, incoherent language that gives America its low standing in Europe.

To be honest, boo hoo. Americans will still pay a fraction of the tax most Europeans pay, and you don't quite appretiate that if America's debt hole isn't fixed, the rest of the world will go down with it.

Potus: "a Swede pays tax more willingly than a Californian because he gets good schools and free healthcare".

Funny,Canada has more guns per person than America, but far less gun crime. I think it's because Canadians just shoot deer and don't rabble on about the "defending your home" crap.

And besides, Sadly I doubt any gun control legislation will get through. This debate was had when JFK was shot. (50years ago this year)

Just my 2 cents, as the yanks say.

#136516 American Airlines New Look

I fear a backlash on the scale of BA's awful "International" liveries. The old one was a classic, went on every aircraft.

Perhaps following the path of United, which merged with Continental and had to take their garish logo.

#136109 Is there room for another airline in the UK

Posted by Concagh98 on 13 January 2013 - 11:07 AM in Real World Aviation

What there's room for (IMO) is an airline offering intercontinental services from airports like Manchester and Glasgow. BA used to have a big hubs out of Manchester and Birmingham but I have no idea what happened to them.

Not Necessarily. The DC-10 (Death Coffin Mark10) was very successful.

#132080 Livery for British United Airways

I would like a Fokker F27/Boeing 707/20 series, in the colours of the logo posted below. Preferably, I would like the bird thingy of the logo on the tail. No other requests.

Thank you!

Edit: almost forgot the logo to use:
