#211506 value

Posted by raraoul on 07 April 2016 - 04:17 PM in General AE Discussion

How is value calculated? What does it increase and what does it decrease?

#211218 demand

Posted by raraoul on 03 April 2016 - 12:01 PM in General AE Discussion

And between seasons of the same year? I can understand that there is more demand to the south of Europe in the months June-August than in December-February..

#211166 When do new airplanes appear?

Posted by raraoul on 02 April 2016 - 03:42 PM in New Players and Questions

What kind of benefit do you have being the launch customer? It's none..

2nd, if you dont pre-order, you still have youre money and that money you can invest in aircraft that are already being produced -> thus you get more aircraft -> thus increase in earnings way before youre pre-order aircraft is on the list.

#211165 demand

Posted by raraoul on 02 April 2016 - 03:38 PM in General AE Discussion

Is there a fluctuation in demand between the different seasons of the year? Or even a decrease or increase between years? Or is there during all the days and years the same demand?

#211158 When do new airplanes appear?

What does it makes sense to pre order aircraft? There is no difference between ordering an aircraft 1 year before its launch date or ordering it 1 day before, right?

#208835 Ticket system

it is the price per seat.

Take a look at the forum posts and you get a better idea how to start and operate a profitable airline.

#208828 A300 vs 767-300(ER)

Posted by raraoul on 22 February 2016 - 10:10 AM in General AE Discussion

Which one would you phase out first (despite the fact that the 767 has a larger range, looking at maintenance costs and fuel)?

But about the retiring, once I read a post on this forum that you should phase out your aircraft between 12-15 years otherwise the aircraft would not be profitable to operate due to high maintenance costs etc.. Not true? You operate aircraft of 20-30 years old?

#206933 Whats your best profit margin.

Posted by raraoul on 15 January 2016 - 07:51 PM in General AE Discussion

I see, but if I cancel those outstanding order, I lose all my money I invested in purchasing them, right?

I never ordered the 744 because I thought the Italian market is not very suitable for it..

The MD11 I bought to replace the old MD11 in order that I dont need to replace them by another aircraft -> thus expansion. Same for the 733.

You dont retire them? And the huge maintenance costs and low valuation of these aircraft then?

Im still #3 and one of the fastest growing, so i dont totally understand that I bought the wrong aircraft then. But you suggest to cancel my outstanding orders to buy other aircraft? Although I lose a lot of money with that?

but with more than 2000 aircraft, a DOP of 670 million, does maintenance base costs really hurt my profit margin/value growth? I need more families, if I dont, i cant expand quickly, right?

#206919 Whats your best profit margin.

Posted by raraoul on 15 January 2016 - 05:31 PM in General AE Discussion

But how? I am number 3 in the world (June 2004) but just always a net profit of around 29%. I have one of the fastest growing airlines if you take a look at value growth, but how can i increase my net profit? Average age of my aircraft is 5,57 which is very young (2200 aircraft in service, 19,19 utilization). Ofcourse Ive some inefficient aircraft like A300/A310/MD11, but those aircraft are only 12,4% of my totall.

And, how can I increase my value growth faster? I dont have lease planes, and all my aircraft are being phased out before age 12.

#206910 717-200 vs emb 195

Posted by raraoul on 15 January 2016 - 11:16 AM in General AE Discussion

Hi,

Currently I have almost 100 717-200 in operation, however, to expand my narrow body activities I doubt ordering new 717's or I start buying the Embraer 195LR (unless it has 12 seats less).

According to AE the lowest fuel flow per passenger for the 717 is 13690/134 = 102,16

Embraer 195: 13690/122 = 112,2

So the embraer burns more fuel and has less seats, thus the choice would be easy; the 717 is a better aircraft.

However, according to the following link  http://planes.axlege...-Boeing-717-200

the embraer has a better fuelflow (3,77$ per NM less than the 717)

Why states AE something different?

Besides, if the 717 is a better aircraft (more economical) than the embraer, why did Boeing stop with the production of it and why is the embraer a more populair aircraft?

I did not take the maintenance costs into consideration as I don't know how to calculate them for the embraer. Someone knows how to calculate the maintenance costs (not the base costs but the costs per aircraft) as you do not have the aircraft in operation?

Thanking you in advance

So it is never possible in realistic world to fly from an European city in another country than your home base to a non-European city? I ordered hundreds of long haul aircraft, so I cant schedule them (as I already fly to almost every profitable city from my home country bases in Italy).

Because I believe that Norwegian flies longhaul from other cities than its home country? Ryanair is planning to do it aswell.

#206332 maintenance

Posted by raraoul on 21 December 2015 - 11:04 AM in New Players and Questions

How do you calculate the maintenance costs of an aircraft that you do not have in your fleet? The base costs and of just a single aircraft?

And what is the rate of increase per year for an aircraft? Differs that per aircraft?

#206187 loadfactor competition

Posted by raraoul on 09 December 2015 - 09:47 AM in New Players and Questions

My question is about the loadfactor on competition routes.

For example; FCO-AMS: Demand is 1795 Daily economy passengers. I put 1852 seats on the route. My loadfactor is 100%. So 1852-1795 = 57. I carry 57 passengers more than the demand is, how is that possible?

Also, there are 3 competitors on this route. The graph states that i have 50% market share.

So the other 3 competitors share together the other 50% on this route, which means 1852 seats as well.

The totall seats on this route is thus 1852 + 1852 = 3704, whereby the demand is 1795.. How is that possible?

#206126 Why don't people use regional jets?

Posted by raraoul on 03 December 2015 - 04:20 AM in General AE Discussion

Actually, i've made calculations for the same route (Lamezia-Milaan Linate). I compared the Q300, 56 seats with the 737-300, 149 seats.

Flying the Q300 18 times a week -> 144 weekly seats

737-300 7 times a week -> 149 weekly seats

I calculated the daily profit of both aircraft with numbers as gate costs, operating costs, maintenance costs, depreciation costs, and the revenues

At the end the Q300 is more profitable (25000 each day for the Q300, 15000 each day for the 733)

However, the Q300 needs 78 hours for this route and the 733 only 24 so at the end the 733 will be more profitable as the 733  is able to fly to more destinations. But, for the route itself the regional jet Q300 is more profitable..

Hi,

I'm having an airline (air mauritius) in realistic world 1990-2000 20mins/day. In the game it is now October 1993.

I was wondering, because it is a realistic world you are only able to open routes from your home country (in my case Italy).

But remains that for 30 years? As Italy for examle is almost completely full. I make 50 million a day but soon i wont be able to expand (or i will fly from Italian airports with gate prices of less than 10.000$ but that wont be that profitable).

Thus the only thing I/we can do over a couple of years is to manage the current routes and replace existing aircraft/routes?

Thanking you in advance,

Air Maruritius
