#57729 reset ?

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 05 October 2008 - 05:08 PM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

Yes. Please reset Sim 1. It is too overcrowded.

Any way to cap the # of airlines around 1000-1500?

#57683 [Resolved] Possible Bug In Aircraft Swapping?

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 02 October 2008 - 02:24 PM in Bugs

Ok, for quite a while I ran an airline with an all 727-100 fleet. When my profits went down the tube I looked for a way to cut costs. I decided to add the DC-9-30 and 737-200 to the fleet where able to replace the 727's. The plan was to decrease fuel usage.
Dispite adding 36 DC-9's and 15 737's the fuel usage for my airline stays the same. Even with the slower speed of the aircraft compared to the 727 the fuel burn is low enough that the swap should be saving me money. My fuel usage has stayed the same dispite adding 51 more efficient aircraft to the fleet and taking those 727's off the flight line.

Possible bug somewhere to look at?

#55939 Sim 1 Reset this weekend

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 10 June 2008 - 08:47 PM in Announcements

And unless I am mistaken time in sim 1 has been frozen for going on a week now. Either let us play or reset the game but don't just stop the game, announce a reset, and do nothing.

#55913 Sim 1 Reset this weekend

So.....no reset?

Time has been still for several days now. The weekend is over with no reset.

#55539 Sim 1 and 2 Reset this Weekend

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 13 May 2008 - 04:16 AM in Announcements

Not being demanding at all. Here is what I wrote.
"Are we going to see a reset today like you said Miller?"

Not demanding anything. It was a question about an action that was supposed to have taken place.
Then you had to start assuming things that were not true.
"If you was to take time to read this thread "
"Try reading before posts before you write"

I asked my question not because I had not read the thread. I asked because I was wondering if a promised action was going to take place as planned.

"You seem to be immovable that this sim1 reset must happen the way you want it to,"

The way I want it to? What exactly is that? I was just asking if we were going through with the scheduled time or not. If you say you will do something on a certain date is it unreasonable to think you will do the action?

"Miller has asked for comments, "

Perhaps he should read the threads.

"Change the attitude and stop being demanding and things may progress. "

I do not have a bad attitude. Just curious. And I don't think I demanded anything. I only asked a question. I hope my original question is not holding up progress, it is after all a yes or no question. And I already have my answer. So I hope you are not still pondering the question and not progressing.

New question:
Any update on when the reset will take place?

#55535 Sim 1 and 2 Reset this Weekend

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 12 May 2008 - 08:49 PM in Announcements

Very direct to the issue arnt you?

Yes, I am.

If you was to take time to read this thread you will see that Miller stated

I did read the thread. Miller also stated....
"I'll be resetting both Sim 1 and Sim 2 on 5/11"

Try reading before posts before you write it will ease the issues within this forum for all concerned.

I did read the posts and was waiting for the original purpose of the thread to be fulfilled as it hadn't yet. Since this topic was started I have basically stopped playing the game since I figured anything I do will be gone in less than a week anyway. We have a poll about what year to start in. We had a date for the sim reset to take place. And it didn't happen. So, I was just curious as to when we can see the reset take place?

#55498 Sim 1 and 2 Reset this Weekend

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 09 May 2008 - 07:42 PM in Announcements

There are routes in real life in which a big A/C is used for short hauls. UA used a 747D on a route from DEN-LAX. 757's were used on IAD-YYZ. Also in DEN UA used 767's and 777's on short haul flights. If the demad is there in the real world an airline will put large A/C on the route.

Also the 747D was used to move alot of people for a short haul.

UA DOES NOT own the 747D. That is a specially modified 747 for short haul routes which was only bought by the major Japanese airlines.
More often than not UA flies its 767/777/747 fleet on longer, international routes. You may see one flying domestically between SFO, DEN, ORD every now and then but it is not a regular occurance. They own many 777A's which don't have long legs but still fly between the US and Europe more often than anything else.
Further, seeing how popular flying widebodies is in the US domestic market the routes profitability can be questioned.

#55463 Sim 1 and 2 Reset this Weekend

If you must reset sim 1 then I vote to have it restart in the late 50's or early 60's. I wanna play through the jet age from the beginning.

#55297 Convair 240's for sale.

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 13 April 2008 - 03:14 AM in Game Discussion (SIM1)

I have 5 C-240's on the open market for $14.9 mil each.

Buy em up! I need some cash!

And there is potential to have 1 additional 240 a day offered at this price depending on cash flow.

#55267 routes, and how they are made...

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 08 April 2008 - 10:44 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

well in the RW, airlines have to bid for a route.

No they don't. In a deregulated market the airlines fly where they want when they want. No bidding anymore.

Thanks flymna! Is there anymore updates on a private forum or what is happening? Also is there a definate plan for the alliance i.e. focus of operations because I would be willing to put resources into a super city for the airline?

Any new members expected soon and could we put a list up of all member airlines and what their position is in the alliance.

Member List:

Royalty Air (futurecaptain) ID 13329
V8 Fusion Airlines (Af773atmsp) ID 18959

Attention Everyone.

You should be getting a PM from me over the next day or two regarding a forum I have set up for us. This way we can discuss alliance things in private.

We need some rules and a defined direction for the alliance. I know we are not big but I hope everyone participates and communicates with each other on the forum so we all know what others are doing.

#53882 Is time standing still?

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 24 January 2008 - 07:07 PM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

Oh ya, game's stuck good.

But I like that we still get our money every hour like normal. Racking up the $$$$. :)

Now, from what I remember the game usually runs for 10-12 years before a reset. So, could we expect a reset around the late 50's when the jet age starts or will the game be continuing on longer?

#53834 Is time standing still?

#53754 Question about Used Aircraft Purchases

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 19 January 2008 - 04:23 AM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

One reason is because there may be a long waiting time from the manufactuer and you want to expand now, airlines will pay a bit of a premium for a new plane.

Another reason is because you can only get 2 new planes from a manufactuer each month if you want more to expand you may buy them on the used market at a premium.

Being a broker and simply buying and selling new planes can be very profitable. It's all I did last game but you have to know what the market wants.

#53685 Apologies In Advance

Posted by RoyaltyAir on 16 January 2008 - 11:53 AM in Announcements

Is this the cause of the airport screens not working?

All my routes are intact yet I serve less than 0% of the market in all my cities. I'm not even on the list next to the pie graph, even in my hub city.

Bug?

Do you have any suggestions as to who?

#53618 Airliners.net Alliance started

I'm not the head of the a.net alliance so I don't know if were open to more airlines.

As a founding member of the alliance you definately have more of a voice then someone who joins next year. I'm not sure how other alliances are run, I've never been in one but there is only 4 of us here now so you make the call and answer the question.

V8 Fusion...would you like us to be open to new members?
Pending a vote and approval by us four founders of course. :)
