#65313 [High] Dissapearing Routes

Posted by gba222 on 31 August 2009 - 11:19 AM in Closed Bugs

I'm suddenly missing three aircraft whose leases weren't expiring! A319's.

#65309 [Fixed] Lifetime Profit Still Not Right

Posted by gba222 on 30 August 2009 - 10:57 PM in Closed Bugs

Appears to have worked, nicely done - cheers!

#65307 [Fixed] Lifetime Profit Still Not Right

Posted by gba222 on 30 August 2009 - 10:00 PM in Closed Bugs

Yup - still massively negative! Also, my costs vs. DOP can't have possibly produced an $81 million loss in only 15 days...so I think there's something up there (perhaps the issues are tied), as my airline should technically be profitable.

#65240 [High] Ticket prices are incorrect

Posted by gba222 on 27 August 2009 - 08:54 AM in Closed Bugs

Its the same on Firefox for me actually!

This bug just shaved my DOP in half overnight - argh. Resetting to default isn't hugely helpful, would it be possible to create a function to reset it to the last known price?

#65192 Airline Logo Requests!

hmmm good question haha! I suppose something akin to Aloha's last livery/corporate identity, if thats alright. Thanks very much!

#65184 Airline Logo Requests!

Hi - would it be possible to do a logo for Leisure International? Cheers!

#65175 Next Round

Posted by gba222 on 22 August 2009 - 09:17 AM in Game Discussion (SIM3 / AE Classic)

I don't understand this reset at all! The only thing that seems to have changed is the date.

EDIT: Apologies, my browser went completely screwy - not sure what happened there!

#65053 Sim2 Public Beta

Just a quick note - but I'm absolutely loving this beta. Its very engaging. Well done indeed!

#64184 SIM3 is Open For Registration!

Posted by gba222 on 21 July 2009 - 10:19 AM in Game Discussion (SIM3 / AE Classic)

I'm a bit confused, the LF seems more or less the same as the current one. The 'high' profits of the old sim 2 aren't in evidence as far as I can see! YVR - YYZ is a money loser and cities like SFO are turning in the kind of profits I'm seeing in sim2 presently. What gives?

#64110 SIM3 is Open For Registration!

Is anyone else unable to start making routes?

#63279 [Resolved] Month change happend twice

Posted by gba222 on 04 July 2009 - 10:31 PM in Bugs

I knew you would understand, bet you a lot more will not !!!:D

In the end, its only the internet! Yea things can be frustrating and I was certainly a bit annoyed at first - but it is never ever worth getting red in the face about losing some virtual money!! :D

#63273 [Resolved] Month change happend twice

Posted by gba222 on 04 July 2009 - 08:24 PM in Bugs

I think thats fair enough - still, I invested a significant amount in new aircraft, gates and hubbing...bad timing, ey? haha

Ah well.

#63270 [Resolved] Month change happend twice

Posted by gba222 on 04 July 2009 - 08:16 PM in Bugs

While its all well and good that its Beta - its only to be expected, but I think its also understandable that people might just be slightly irked about losses incurred. Given that its fairly certain that most people have lost a fair amount of money though this, then perhaps a modest amount of cash for all players?

#63256 Double month reset? (New)

Posted by gba222 on 04 July 2009 - 07:13 PM in Bugs

At the month changeover, I received the usual warning for my gates. However, the month seems to have just changed again and I've lost them all - the dates are also reading funny! I'm sure that's easily remedied, but I am in debt after receiving new aircraft and I can't afford to re-rent gates I fairly spent money on!

#62072 [Sim2] Reset: Restart on friday

Posted by gba222 on 16 June 2009 - 09:55 PM in Announcements

Cleverly, I managed to forget the password for my account and couldn't retrieve it as the email address it would be sent to is no longer active. So today I registered a new account, which seemed to work at first, but now no longer does. I'm told that the account does not exist.

Have I missed something here and nobody is able to log in at the moment - or should I go and register yet another new account?

#62029 One major hub

Posted by gba222 on 16 June 2009 - 05:46 PM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

Well, having a focus city or two certainly doesn't hurt, just where its uneconomical to operate to a certain destination from your main hub, but quite profitable to do so from a closer city.

I know this isn't the place for suggestions, but it might not be a bad idea to keep hubs at 15 gates, but the option to open a focus city with a max of 5 gates or so, which for an extra cost, you can upgrade to a hub if you wish. The focus city would cost less to set up, would boost LF's/revenue, but obviously not as much as a hub. Just an off the cuff thought.

#62015 Planes for sale on used market

Posted by gba222 on 16 June 2009 - 01:59 PM in Game Discussion (SIM1)

I did something similar, I was in the top 25, was the largest carrier at 3 out of my 4 hubs, but it was getting boring! So I sold off the fleet, figuring I'd have a nice cash pile to start off fresh somewhere else. However, even that turned out to be a bit boring, as there was no challenge in having billions to buy a few ATR's.

So instead I've just started the same airline from scratch, from my former main hub and will try and see if I can reclaim that number 1 spot again. Shall be interesting to say the least!

Anyway, sorry for going off topic!

#62009 [Resolved] Problem with Autopricing

Posted by gba222 on 16 June 2009 - 09:18 AM in Bugs

I don't know why you're all complaining - its just a new feature simulating the impact of a global economic recession on AE airlines! I think its working rather well. Massive losses, plummeting passenger numbers - brilliant! :P

#61757 [Resolved] Bankruptcy & terminals

Posted by gba222 on 11 June 2009 - 10:43 AM in Bugs

I recently got a bit bored with my airline and dissolved it - however, upon starting a new one, I have found that the three terminals I owned previously are still with my current airline and that I do not have the new gates/aircraft I requested upon re-starting.

Is this related to the pause, or has anyone else encountered this? I'd quite like to get on with starting my new airline during the pause.

Ah yes, always good to have a strong 'prunciple' hub, ey?

#61620 A319-100

Posted by gba222 on 08 June 2009 - 02:31 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

Slightly off topic - but actually, I've found the A300 to be a very good money-spinner. Chiefly because its quite quick to turn-around as widebodies go, so I've been using them to good effect.

Just about every aircraft in this game has a certain niche - whether its defined by operating costs, range, speed, turnaround time or even purchasing price.

#61341 Sim2 reset: Friday, may 15

Posted by gba222 on 28 May 2009 - 04:49 PM in Announcements

One thing I feel may slow down the rampant expansion we've seen (apart from starting off with lower cash levels and smaller airports) would be to limit the out-and-out 'open skies' that the game allows at the moment. i.e. You should choose the country or region you want to operate from and then if you want to expand to launching a new hub or new destinations from an airport in another country, then you must 'apply' (i.e. pay a fee) to do so. The result being, airlines will still be able to expand overseas, just not at the rampant rate that they are currently doing. Obviously every idea has its pitfalls, but I don't think its a bad solution by any standards.

#61244 Sim2 reset: Friday, may 15

Posted by gba222 on 22 May 2009 - 07:29 PM in Announcements

I've grown remarkably fast, to be come a top 10/20 airline and in spite of the fact that I've done exceedingly well, I do think that its a bit too fast. I've already purchased widebodies, which really shouldn't be happening so soon. Yes, I've managed to do so well by managing effectively and I have no qualms about my position in relation to other airlines that started at the same time as me - but I'm still not convinced its particularly fair on the people who will inevitably join later.

I've been playing this game for quite a while, I've started at the beginning of rounds, in the middle and at the end - basically whenever I have the time to. I know from first hand experience what a pain it is to try and build up your airline near the end of a round, when you have a B1900D and your competitor is using A330s. Still, fair is fair and thats the price I paid for being a latecomer. However, the speed at which this round has already progressed is pretty phenomenal, to the point where we will now have newcomers competing with Q400s against 747D's and A380s within the first 10 days. And that just doesn't seem right.

#61202 Sim2 reset: Friday, may 15

Posted by gba222 on 21 May 2009 - 07:05 AM in Announcements

Well thank you for assuming the best of everyone.......

Honestly, how patronising. My post wasn't at all intended as a complaint, merely pointing out something that I felt would help a little. You don't need to get all high and mighty and point out what a great job the developers are doing, we're all aware of it. I'm sorry if trying to be helpful constitutes whining in your book, but your post was needless. I just happened to find an issue that I have with a feature being taken away by a recent development and was pointing it out and proposing a way to counteract it for the benefit of other players, nothing more... Its not exactly urgent.

#61197 Sim2 reset: Friday, may 15

Posted by gba222 on 20 May 2009 - 05:28 PM in Announcements

I think that a good interim solution would be the ability to 'close all routes' for a certain aircraft, much in the same way that you can 'return all gates'. I have replaced old aircraft with new ones, but as I am not allowed to directly change aircraft, I have to close all of the routes aircraft A is operating and then re-open them with aircraft B. As such, it'd be very convenient to be able to just close all of aircraft A's routes at once.
