#52858 50% off of plane of your choice! Merry Christmas!

Posted by watchdog on 25 December 2007 - 08:48 PM in Game Discussion (SIM1)

Merry Christmas AE! First 5 people to post their user id and the plane they want, gets it for 50% off normal price. Allow 5-24 hours for delivery.

You do not have to give away things in AE for people to LOVE you

Just be like me, they all love me from the abuse and crap I throw at them

Just watch them reply to this reply, that will show you that being an ass earns respect

:P

#52593 Sim2 Open! - New Auto-Pricing Feature

Posted by watchdog on 17 December 2007 - 03:09 PM in Announcements

I've spent countless hours over the last three days putting together the auto pricing functionality. I think I've got it where it needs to be, but be ginger with it, as there's bound to be bugs.

Here's how it works: When you're setting the ticket price, whether it be on the new route creation, route update, or research, simply click the "Turn Auto Pricing On" button. Don't forget to set your frequency, and calculate your revenue. Your pricing will be automatically set to the best price (+/- 5%) and if any of your competitors make changes that affect this route, your price will automatically be updated.

But its not going to be perfect, because every time you adjust your routes, all of the other players with auto-pricing will adjust to your changes. Of course you can always go back to manual pricing by clicking the "Turn Auto Pricing Off" button. Be ready to constantly change your route if you do this though.

Time is currently stopped, and I'll give it a few days to iron out any bugs. Please make sure to report your bugs in the bugs forum.

Enjoy!

I think this new idea of Auto Pricing is long overdue, Miller it works fine, so far but I did try the swap place on an existing and thought that if I turn off auto price and back on see if any change, this resulted in an extra 10% revenue. Top work Miller

#52592 Autopricing not giving me best profit

Posted by watchdog on 17 December 2007 - 03:06 PM in Bugs

I just purchased two extra frames and did the plane swap, but I went back to auto pricing and it gave me an extra 10% revenue by adjusting after swapping.

#52591 Complete list of airports

Posted by watchdog on 17 December 2007 - 03:04 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

Hello,
I'm aware of the fact that any airport addition requests don't belong to the "suggestions" thread, but anyway - I want to point out the fact that there's only one airport in Russia in the whole AE database - Moscow Sheremet'evo UUEE. As far as I know about 20 or 30 companies based in Russia joined recently this game and the lack of opportunity to fly domestics routes in Russia spoils it all.
We are able to provide all necessary data (coordinates, gates number etc) to help add at least four or five airports inside the Russian airspace.

Good Point, the same is for Australia and before it was the same in Africia, if Miller reads this post he may attempt to place more locations in Russia for Russia is a very large location and the lack of fly points seems stupid not to be fair and share.

#52454 Has AE Gotten any Better?

Posted by watchdog on 12 December 2007 - 11:06 PM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

I've taken a lot of time lately to get back into the swing of things and improve the game. Has it had any effect?

Miller, a lot of the older longer players of this game would appreciate you returning to (Keep this Sim Alive)

You would have your reasons for being away so long and letting the game get to a state that it was in, however that’s your own business and we have no right asking, so myself, I am pleased you have taken the time to re-vamp AE, by adding this new avenue may get AE back to some respect that players should show.

Keeping an (Active) role on the game will only keep the AE sim advancing once again.

Thumbs up from me

#52191 List of Airports Complete!

Posted by watchdog on 02 December 2007 - 06:46 PM in Announcements

I don't agree, I believe AE has and I've always said it contrary to some of your comments on this issue, has the ability to be a highly successful game with some minor changes. Largely the game works well but minor problems such as the gate abuse and a few other areas could make a huge difference.

As for the player base, it will come back.

they well may return, many things must be looked into including a more active management structure

place a STOP to the abuse in gates - multiple accounts and other things it may prove to be a game worthy of playing and even a once a year subscription of a niminal fee via paypal but only if some form of action is taken to resolve issues.

time will tell so we will chack back from time to time

#52186 List of Airports Complete!

Not to ruin this thread, but check out the sim announcements for some major AE changes. Should be exciting.

Not a thing posted in Sim Announcement for a while

but nice to see Miller is still kicking

but the damage is done the players have vacated since little or no forum messages for a long long time just hope Miller you are able to get them back from the (jumped ship) other sim they are all playing.

#52158 (Dead Duck)

Posted by watchdog on 24 November 2007 - 12:34 PM in Off Topic

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head
sadly and said, 'I'm so sorry, your Duck, Cuddles, has passed away.'The distressed owner wailed, 'Are
you sure?' 'Yes, I'm quite sure. The duck is dead,' he replied.

How can you be so sure,' she protested.
'I mean, you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something.'
The vet rolled his eyes turned around and left the room and returned a few moments later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the Examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom.

He then looked at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head. The vet patted the dog and took it out, and returned a few moments later with a cat. The cat jumped up on the table and also sniffed delicately at the bird. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room. The vet looked at
the woman and said, 'I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck.' Then the vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill which he handed to the woman. The duck's owner, still in shock, looked at the bill.

'£150!',she cried.. £150 just to tell me my duck is dead?'

The vet shrugged. 'I'msorry.' 'If you'd taken my word for it, the bill would have been £20, but
with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan It's now £150.

Wouldn't this say that there are little if any left viewing the forums?

Shame on Miller to let it decay like this.

not dead yet, and given the proper care it could return to it's glory days.

That will happen if Miller comes back and keeps the handy-work going but no sign of him so looks like he has given up on ae

What a Shame

Posted by watchdog on 13 November 2007 - 08:29 PM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

we gotta distinguish between real life and a virtual simulated world :P

miller had every idea to try make ae like the real world little did he know that a game like ae does take time and many more developers than 1 or 2 scripting to perfect and that time or other/s scripting he has lost plus the players to even keep ae alive

the game is DEAD

time to place dirt on the grave and a rose for the female former players

#51854 FlyWorld Airlines Pulls Out of AE

Posted by watchdog on 21 October 2007 - 08:40 PM in Airline Press Releases

I think the game has become too competitive... The element of fun has been lost

BTW I am not gatehogging at the moment if anyone is wondering why I have a lot of European cities at 0% it's because I have 40 or so A319-100's on order and I'm staging a revival, and I hope to break the top 15 by the end of the round :P

you said:

am pulling FlyWorld Airlines out of this round of AE... The game is pointless at ther moment with airlines like KaaiElEm and Developing Airlines CHEATING (Yes, I am using the word cheating as that's what using the Africa bug is)... Even I admit to using the Africa bug on one or two routes, to stop myself from going under (I lose about $3m a day from KLM and developing putting stupidly big planes on stupidly small routes...) So, it's ta ta for now, but I'll still remain in the Worldwide Alliance if I'm still invited there.

Why are you still ordering frames?
Why are you still gate purchasing?

If you want to post

I am Leaving - Then Bugger off.
