Posted by Keelung on 29 March 2013 - 04:00 AM in New Players and Questions

Just cease operations and start all over again. Go to airline options>bankruptcy>press the cease operations button and the affirmation of intention.

#140475 Flight Crew rest period(long haul flights only)

Posted by Keelung on 27 March 2013 - 07:59 AM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

I think it just depends on the rules and regulation imposed on airlines in their own registered country. This may be a good idea but I think that this would not be prioritized for AE4, possibly when we go down into the details that it would be implemented.

I think you didn't read my post thoroughly.... I hate it when people just scan through.

#140469 Flight Crew rest period(long haul flights only)

Posted by Keelung on 27 March 2013 - 06:00 AM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

In the real world the crew rest period doesn't affect the number of flights that can be operated. He is talking about separate crews required on long haul flights, not crew rest on ground which wouldn't affect the number of weekly flights that can be operated, all you need is a separate crew to fly the plane back. Yes this would make things cost more but that cost is minute compared to what we are able to make in AE, so I'm backing this.

#140433 Progressive offering of engines

Posted by Keelung on 26 March 2013 - 08:57 AM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

For many aircraft types there are many engine options and they are all offered at once the type is placed on market. However, many engine options are only certified in a later stage. For example, the Airbus A320-200 was introduced with the CFM56-5A1 certified in 1988 and IAE V2500-A1 certified in 1989. Later the CFM56-5A3 was certified in 1990, IAE V2527-A5 in 1993, CFM56-5B4 in 1995, IAE V2527E-A5 in 1995 and lastly CFM56-5B6 in 2006.

What I'm suggesting is that airlines can only order aircraft with a particular engine option maybe a year or two before it is certified and the aircraft can only be delivered after the certification date. So this means that airlines can only make do with the present engine options offered at the time and would have to wait for other new options if they wanted them instead. This wouldn't make the system complicated, it will be like introducing a new aircraft type. News of the engine option being offered would be announced and that option would appear on the choosing engine type page. I'm sure this would make the game a little more interesting!

#140406 Alliance

Having the same problem here, we'll see what happens. I don't quite get what you are trying to talk about in the second part, is it the distribution of power?

#140403 Manager Wanted

Posted by Keelung on 25 March 2013 - 05:52 AM in O1-4 Archive

My ID number is 20313, but on one condition, Twisa Europe would have to join Aero (Alliance). I'll be glad to help you manage your airline.

Private games will take up too much precious server space that we are lacking right now, but maybe in the future.

#140324 Boeing 777-300 Wrong Photograph

I believe the B732 engines are very distinguishable from the B738's. Cool OneWorld livery on the Japan Airlines B773 though.

You're right about the B762 photo, its a KrasAir B767-200ER in AiRUnion alliance livery, but I'm have no idea on the BAe Avro/RJ photos.

#140300 Boeing 777-300 Wrong Photograph

Oops I meant the Boeing 777-300, I've flew on one of Cathay's, it was old, disgusting and horrible. And I'm sorry Northern, I'm just pointing out a mistake which is not a big deal, don't get judgmental.

Concorde is just for the prestige, never get it unless you have >$100 million DOP.

#140289 Alliances share terimanls

The discussion wasn't detailed but it would certainly be included in AE4, it's the way forward.

#140287 Boeing 777-300 Wrong Photograph

Posted by Keelung on 22 March 2013 - 02:59 AM in General AE Discussion

They are very, very different planes, we need a new picture. Unfortunately I can't find my memory card for the pictures of Boeing 777-300ER.

On the aircraft information page for the Boeing 777-300, a picture of a Singapore Airlines Boeing 777-300ER is being used.

This has been discussed before and will be included in AE4.

#140231 Country Change

Posted by Keelung on 20 March 2013 - 06:06 PM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

Things were messed up during post-Soviet Union. States in the ex-union just took away planes by default if those aircraft were on their soil. I think in AE players would get to choose the state that their airline would belong to, and all flights from foreign ex-Soviet soil to other foreign destinations should be suspended immediately in restricted worlds. For airports that are being shut down, the historical date of closure should be provided as a reminder and all operations from the airport would be shut down once the day arrives or if there is an replacement airport, airlines can opt to transfer flights as a whole if the number of hours on the plane is enough but this would be complicated.

#139827 Need Advice for What Planes to Buy

Posted by Keelung on 10 March 2013 - 03:48 PM in New Players and Questions

I think we should have embargoes in the realistic world. Soviet airlines pre-90s can't buy Western aircraft, the West can't buy Soviets, North Korean, Iran, basically all airlines which origin from countries with historical or present embargoes should only be allowed to buy aircraft from manufacturers from countries without sanctions against their countries.

#139824 Need Advice for What Planes to Buy

Posted by Keelung on 10 March 2013 - 03:00 PM in New Players and Questions

Don't start buying anything this early, keep leasing and also do not operate less than five of an single aircraft type because the cost is too high. Getting the 747s should be a priority in growing international traffic. They have the legs to do long haul which opens you up to bigger markets. The B737-200 Advs are also nice efficient planes, don't have the 200s or 300s, always get the 200advs. When you move into the 80s, make sure you order the B757s and B767s, these crafts allows you to fly into destinations 3000nm+ with lower demand. Get the A320 series in the 90s, forget the MDs and DCs unless you are desperate of growth. Be sure that when you lease planes, max out the leasing term to 10 years, this lowers the monthly lease quite significantly although it does not impact your profit much, but numbers do add up. Make sure to extend your lease terms when the prices can be lowered and never ever terminate a contract, just buy and sell the planes.

#139599 Plane age

Posted by Keelung on 04 March 2013 - 06:35 PM in New Players and Questions

Not so, the plane still does profit even at 30 or 40 and maybe even 50 years, but it's just less. Also, never, ever run just one plane of a type, you will not be able to make an overall profit even if it's brand new, let alone 10. In the end, it's economics. One tip I would give to you when you're leasing aircraft, always go for a full 10-year lease, and when you get the aircraft, extend the lease by one year, this decreases the price of lease per month. I know it isn't much but numbers do add up. Never terminate leases, never. Just buy and sell the plane.

#139518 Actual game dates of world closure?

I was wondering if the actual closure date of a world can be announced before hand.

#139517 Vintage livery and logo for Air Formosa

Posted by Keelung on 02 March 2013 - 03:53 PM in Logo / Livery Requests

I've recently restarted Air Formosa in S3A and I'm looking to have a logo and livery that captures the essence of vintage design from the 1970~1990. Thank you!
