#122453 Last years trip all the way from Sweden to Indonesia

Posted by Lax7 on 09 August 2012 - 12:03 AM in Trip Reports

So, sorry that its a bit outdated, however just thought it might be a little interesting to share!
Anyways, my trip started from a city up north of Sweden, Lulea and goes all the way down to Indonesia.
It started off with a flight from LLA to ARN on board Scandinavian Airlines B737-700 on a 1h 15m flight.

Next I boarded Lufthansa flight to Nice, France to get to Monaco and spend a few days with a close friend of mine, before proceeding to Indonesia.
Didnt take pictures fromt he flight, but here goes some pictures during my stay.

Posted Image
Lovely view of the city.
After finally arrived, took the chance to get myself a frostie, and chill out by the balcony while enjoying the splendid view.

So after a few days have gone by, I flew back to Sweden to board Qatar Airways A330-200 to Doha, and then a connecting flight the next day to Indonesia onbaord an A330-300.
I decided to spend the day in Doha since they had a pretty sweet deal from the airline where I need to pay $100 and that gets me a one night stay in a 4 star Best Western Hotel in Doha, including Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, with free transportation to and from the airport. Sounds unbelievable huh? I picked this choice since it would save me a few more bucks on the ticket price. It was worth it.
Sorry for the crappy aircraft pic.

Best Western in Doha...didnt get to take so much pics.

Next up, is the 8 hour long flight from Doha-Jakarta. Flight was overbooked and I bought my tickets on coach, but got upgraded to Business Class( Ive been upgraded 3x more times since 2011-2012, I can
really recommend this airline).
However, they first told me that they would upgrade me since I am a member of the Priviledge club but then she said 'However sir, we do not allow jeans in our Business Class'.
That made me think, in my opinion that is probably one of the most ridicilous rule I have heard. Correct me if im worng, since I dont fly Business very often but is that rule actually true??
Anyways, I was wearing a blazer so to her it was okay. Again, sorry I did not take pics, but I was saving my camera for something more adventurous.
After arriving in Jakarta, which is more or less home, i spent a few days there and then I left a again to my destination which is in Central Java.
Detail wise, this island that I am going to is exactly around 70nm directly North of the Java Sea from the city of Semarang.

So here are the pictures:

Getting ready to taxi. Aircraft is CESSNA 402B

Cruising at 6,000 feet. Captain Yahno and our mechanic. Usually the mechanic does not join our flights, but since we were carrying cargo and the outbound flight
was bringing guests checking out from the island, we brought the mechanic to do checks before the next flight. The flight just did some major
maintenance and upgrades in Darwin, Australia which was nearly worth 2x than the original price tag of the aircraft...So there the mechanic was checking all parameters.

Upon arrival. This 8 seater work horse is an excellent machine....Built in 1974 bytheway! :P :P

Next, we take a boat trip from the main island (which has the airport) to the final destination, called Kura-Kura Resort, about 30 minutes away.

And finally, here is where I came to:

After spending a few days, then its the trip back to Jakarta, and then spent around 2 months before going back to Sweden. The pictures will tell the rest. :)

I sure hope you guys enjoyed my report!

Sorry its a bit short in everything, I have tons more pics but the forum does not allow me to post more.

Awesome trip! Karimun Jawa island is on my destination list next time I go back to Indonesia.
Not to Kura-kura Resort though, it's too expensive and don't even mention the air shuttle, lol.
Have your camera handy when travelling and take more pictures :P

Haha, yeah Karimun Jawa is a must to see destination nowdays..Packed with tourists all the time! If you ever thinking of going, hit me up! I go there pretty much every year..Used to go there much more often when I was still living in
Indonesia! And next time, Ill buy a decent camera! :)

I also have a plan to visit Karimun Jawa in the next 2-3 months, backpackers! :awesome:

Take pictures and post them here! :) I highly recommend that you take a tour of the islands and perhaps do some snorkling on the Northern side of Karimun Jawa, near the Dewadaru airport. There lies a wreck from a 1947 dutch steam ship which is lying on the bottom at about 15-20 metres. If can, take a dive!

#122561 if you owned ryanair?

Posted by Lax7 on 10 August 2012 - 01:10 AM in What I Would Do Is...

I will cut more costs.

Eg;
- flight attendants will manage the check in services, boarding, cleaning, refuelling and baggage handling of the aircract to reduce personell costs.
-have a quicker turn time of 18 minutes.
-luggage weighing more than 9kg will be charged with fuel fee( lighter plane, less fuel)
-create a new economy class: Coach Class: - plastic chairs that folds up in order for more capacity.
- insert 5 cents for everytime you open or close yout belt. (that way people will likely to keep them buckled for safety)
-insert 10 cents when the emergency oxygen deploys in order to get them to work.

Jokes aside......

Hmm id change the name to something that actually represents the airline.
Get some A330's and do a long haul LCC thing like Air Asia X

#127137 Aircraft Leasing Between Airlines & Used Market Overhaul

Posted by Lax7 on 02 October 2012 - 12:44 AM in Suggestions and Feature Requests

I guess what you could sort of do is create a few virtual "lease companies" where different companies have different aircrafts and deals for an airline depending on their order. Its a bit different from what everyone has suggested, but i mean spicing it up step by step will sure make it fun. Each lease companies can be allocated a certain amount of aircrafts and have different lease options depending on the buyer. I think price wise and such is fine at the moment, id rather think about infrastructure and additional details and features that can be added instead of pricing. Same goes for used aircrafts, airlines and companies or aircraft brokers could be present and have deals

#127239 Livery Request: A340-300 Scandinavian Aviation and B747-400 Eurasia Airways

Posted by Lax7 on 03 October 2012 - 06:21 PM in Logo / Livery Requests

Greetings fellow airline empires gamers!

First of all, a formal introduction of myself, Im Chris and currently operating 2 airlines, Scandinavian Aviation and Eurasia Airways. I would like to know if somebody is willing to do a livery for both my airlines? If not 1 is fine, since the priority is actually for Eurasia Airways.

I have created logos already and there has already been a livery made for Scandinavian Aviation, and what I want with that is just some 'small' changes. Eurasia Airways however, is a brand new airline and I would like a complete new design for it.

I understand that most you designers and livery makes are busy, but the thing is I am learning to do so myself, and right now starting with the logos. I am a serious player, and have even made 'brochures'for the airline Scandinavian Aviation, and would actually like one of you to review them and see what is missing or what is good in terms of media.

If someone is willing to create me a livery, please do write me back or reply to this post, and I can give you all the logos, and liveris and ideas that I have which will give you a better understanding of how I would like to shape my airline.

Some basic things im looking for:

Eurasia Airways:
Light grey body aircraft
Logo on front of fuselage
Some big navy blue stripes or flows going form the undercarriage going across the fuselage and all the way up to the tail
Some simple flags, registration and navy blue coloured engine

Scandinavian Aviation:
I have a livery already done however needs some editing, message me and I can send you a copy of the livery. (PS: livery was not done by me)

I sure hope someone will be willing to do this for me!
I could not offer a reward however I can offer you a big thank you and if you want perhaps sponsor your work around the forum? And if you have the spare time, I would love to work more in the future designing some marketing ad campaigns, ticketings, press releases and such, adn ofcourse I will work with you also :)

Thanks for the attention, and I sure hope looking forward to work with one of you!

Cheers,
Chris

#127704 Unrealistic Expansion?

Posted by Lax7 on 09 October 2012 - 11:19 PM in General AE Discussion

After reading this, I wonder how is it possible to get $100 mill or more in daily profit? For example, I am based in Copenhagen for R5 and pretty much covered quite a lot of 'profitable' airports and DOP is at a mere 27 million...Thats is WITH Scam IFS, because if i do the initial plan of full-service, then it bankrupts my airline becaue of overheads...I mean there are still ofcourse lots of routes I havent discovered, however mainly are small airports. I guess it depends on where you are based?

#127729 Unrealistic Expansion?

Posted by Lax7 on 10 October 2012 - 12:07 PM in General AE Discussion

Extremely easy. I hit $1 billion DOP in the previous R2 round. If I put in more time/effort, $2 billion would've been possible.

It's past the year 2000. You can expand anywhere in the EU. Your DOP is so small because you are restricting yourself to just one hub. It is probably impossible to generate $100M DOP from one hub, even when based in ATL. Extremely large airlines base themselves in countries with a lot of large airports (or in the EU).

Is there something wrong with small airports? If you properly configure your aircraft, they will make you so much more money than, for example, CPH-LHR.

I mustve been really stupid to not stumble across this..After your reply, I just found out that I can operate outside my hub and fly ARN-CDG for example....Now all this makes sense :P

Thanks though!

Is it also like this in real life bytheway? I had no idea about this freedom of the air kind of thing. I understand that EasyJet for example, does that, I see hubs in Amsterdam, Milan and etc.

#129274 alphawing - Aviation Branding Specialist by Duncan - Now with 20% more discla...

Posted by Lax7 on 30 October 2012 - 01:27 PM in Designer Showcase

I would love to make simple liveries (As you can see I am capable of doing so too), but people tends to ask for more and more (and more) stuffs on their planes :/ Customer is always right, right?

Wow Dunc, you truly are talented! It says you offer packages? Do you sell them or?
I am currently trying to do something similar myself for my airline. For example, Ive made my Frequent Flyer Credit Card, Livery, and currently on the progress of making a small company portfolio containing information of fleet, classes, frequent flyer cards, boarding cards, etc and you can imagine yourself how much media is needed.

Ive managed to do most by myself excepting liveries (all done by a member of the forums) and some other complicated media. I would love to get your opinion on some of the things Ive done!

Currently I am waiting for a certain world to start and recently just joined an alliance, so once this world has start, I would like to go large, eg: huge publications and advertisements and such, to create a solid brand image :)

Would you be interested in helping me out? :)

Very nice, but may I just ask why has a 9V- aircraft got an EU flag.

Eurasia Airways is operated by me, and the concept is specifically made for the No Political Restriction World, in which the airline will be based both in Europe and Asia :) Hence Eurasia. If its operated in a normal world, it will of course be changed :D

And again ioh969, great job! It fits the world since currently its in 1997...

#129455 ioh's studio

Posted by Lax7 on 01 November 2012 - 06:57 PM in Designer Showcase

No but it does say that singapore moved to the EU. The Eu flag should maybe be by the name considering the name of Eurasia. Having the flag next to the reg implies something else than as a motif.

Having 2 flags can always mean that the airline be based in both..Like in boats as example, if a boat is (or based) in a certain country (lets say Singapore,) however owned, managed, or from an EU country( lets say Stockholm), then it can have both flags on the vessel. Maybe not the same on airlines, but I think its fairly the same concept....

#130811 Livery Making Tutorial

Posted by Lax7 on 24 November 2012 - 05:12 PM in Logo / Livery Requests

Hi folks!

Can somebody help me in how I can make patterns on my airlines fuselage? For example, some lines or drawings on the side of the fuselage? Do I use the shape tools to draw them or the path tool?

Thanks!

This is some livery done by me, just some beginner stuff so do point me out how it can be improved and what is good or bad!
Thanks and enjoy!

PS. Im still unsure what to do with the wings so I left them as it is.
I also need some help into how I can draw some livery elements, like lines, patterns or drawings etc on the aircraft fuselage.

Cheers!
