Did Some Housecleaning

12 February 2007 - 08:10 AM

Bowing out of this round in some vivacious action, I decided to purchase every single aircraft on the used market and scrap them up. It was becoming an eyesore seeing the first ten pages dominated by Beechs, J-31s, and ATRs.

What I did was probably a breach of carriage, but ought to clear some of the clutter up on the used market pages.

Enjoy the rest of the round!

Hawk Airlines Press Releases

Airbus/Embraer Orders
24 September, Year 2

Hawk Airlines announced today that it has put in an order for two (2) Embraer 120s, as well as one (1) Airbus A330-200 and one (1) Airbus A319.

The Brasilias will be used to maintain Japanese domestic routes currently being serviced by ERJ-135LRs. The amount of competition within the domestic market and the dilution of yields within that particular market has made the 135s woefully inefficient in regards to running short-turn, high frequency routes. That having been said, the airline felt that these aircraft should be replaced with more fuel-efficient planes that are less costly to operate.

The ERJ-135LRs will be put up for sale with the arrival of the Brasilias in a couple of months.

The Airbus A319 on order will be used to expand the airline's medium-haul international services out of its Tokyo/Haneda hub. Destinations rumored include Kahului, Phuket, Kota Kinabalu, and Bombay.

The Airbus A330 will be used to expand the airline's long-haul operations out of Tokyo. At current, the airline is looking at destinations in the United States and Europe, though nothing is finalised as of yet.

De-Hubbing City

04 October 2006 - 11:59 PM

Is there any way to de-hub a hub? I ask because the city I hubbed has pretty much RJ city, hence the effects of a hub would be minimal to none unless I can put more mainline or perhaps some E-jets there.

Sorry if this has been brought up before. The search function seems on the fritz.

Oldest Aircraft in Service?

10 September 2006 - 07:15 PM

Since you can't tell the actual age of an aircraft by it's "Age," I would think you could tell somewhat the oldest aircraft by the designated aircraft number. With that said, what is the oldest aircraft currently in service? Is there anyone still operating a/c #1?

For me, I had a/c #67 (J-31) before I sold it a couple months ago (game time).

HAWK Airlines Announces Acquisition of Beech 1900D

September 24, Year 2

HAWK Airlines is pleased to announce that it has acquired it's fifth Beech 1900D for use in scheduled revenue service. From the airline's Phoenix operations center, HAWK CEO Committed Lurker told the audience, "We are happy to have purchased this aircraft at such an affordable rate. With the current used aircraft market literally flooded with Beech 1900s, and to a lesser extent, J-31s, we will most certainly take advantage of the used market when deciding to acquire additional aircraft."

The aircraft acquired, AC# 5827, was purchased for $6.15 million, a mere $200,000 above list price. It was formerly operated by the worldwide niche carrier Geesh What A Struggle. This aircraft will join the airline's current fleet of 4 existing Beech 1900Ds, as well as 4 J-31 turboprop aircraft.

At the conclusion, Lurker reminded the audience, "Our goal is not to become the largest airline in the world, but to strive for controlled growth. If we continue to look at the used aircraft market for fleet expansion, we will most likely continue our pace of acquiring one aircraft per game month until our daily operating profits enable us to consider other options."
