Airbus/Embraer Orders
24 September, Year 2

Hawk Airlines announced today that it has put in an order for two (2) Embraer 120s, as well as one (1) Airbus A330-200 and one (1) Airbus A319.

The Brasilias will be used to maintain Japanese domestic routes currently being serviced by ERJ-135LRs. The amount of competition within the domestic market and the dilution of yields within that particular market has made the 135s woefully inefficient in regards to running short-turn, high frequency routes. That having been said, the airline felt that these aircraft should be replaced with more fuel-efficient planes that are less costly to operate.

The ERJ-135LRs will be put up for sale with the arrival of the Brasilias in a couple of months.

The Airbus A319 on order will be used to expand the airline's medium-haul international services out of its Tokyo/Haneda hub. Destinations rumored include Kahului, Phuket, Kota Kinabalu, and Bombay.

The Airbus A330 will be used to expand the airline's long-haul operations out of Tokyo. At current, the airline is looking at destinations in the United States and Europe, though nothing is finalised as of yet.

New Seasonal Long-Haul Flights, & Other News
3 November, Year 2

With the delivery of two (2) new Airbus A330-200s earlier this month, the airline has announced that these aircraft will be used to conduct seasonal point-to-point flights for the winter season. The airline hopes to redeploy these aircraft back to the Tokyo/Haneda hub in time for spring travel, but states that this move is contingent upon the airline reaching gate/slot agreements at particular airports.

Seasonal Flights:

Los Angeles-Honolulu
Los Angeles-Sapporo
London (Heathrow)-Seoul
Seoul-Jakarta

The airline also announced today that the two (2) Embraer 120 Brasilias have been put up for sale in the public market. This move was made due to the fact that these aircraft were deemed to be unable to keep up with the scheduled services between domestic routes without sacrificing frequency.

Also due to competitive pressures along the Hong Kong-Seoul market, the airline has withdrawn the Embraer 170LR utilized on that route and has placed that aircraft for sale on the public market.

HAWK Airlines CEO Committed Lurker is becoming wary of the airline's financial situation as well as the airline's diminishing marketshare at its Tokyo/Haneda hub, where the airline now controls 23% of the marketshare, down from almost 30% a year earlier. The CEO cites competitive pressures from other airlines that have contributed to yield dilution and the need for the airline to pursue other routes that may generate additional profit.

CENTCOM Meltdown, Aircraft Redeployments, & Other News
22 January, Year 3

The airline's central command center in Downtown Tokyo was abruptly shut down following an unexpected outage in electrical and telecommunications equipment. The outage lasted approximately three days (real) and throughout that time, the airline was unable to monitor such vital statistics as load factors, profits, and aircraft dispatch. Therefore during that time, the airline assumed its schedule prior to the outage. With the hard work of our dedicated employees worldwide, the airline made it through the outage intact and with minimal disruptions throughout the system. The airline will spend the next couple of days (game time) reevaluating the remainder of it's system and make any changes should they be deemed necessary.

The airline reached agreements with certain airport authorities with regards to gate and slot usage, allowing us to commence service to several new destinations worldwide. With our Airbus A330s, we commenced service from our Tokyo/Haneda hub to Melbourne, Kahului, Seattle, and Bombay. Our seasonal service between Los Angeles and Sapporo has been upgraded to year-round service.

Aircraft Delivery Updates, Financials, & Other News
1 March, Year 3

The airline has issued this press release to inform interested customers and shareholders updated word regarding our future aircraft deliveries, as well as inform people about the airline's financial well-being and any other adjustments made within the last six weeks (game time).

Before the CENTCOM meltdown, the airline placed an order with Boeing for one (1) Boeing 777-200LR with options for four more airframes. We are due to receive the firm airframe next month, and unfortunately will not be exercising the options for the other four airframes. However, the airline states that they may enter another order for the 777-200LR should they find it's performance to be satisfactory and will aide in the airline's aggressive expansion plans worldwide.

Also before the CENTCOM meltdown, the airline placed an order for two (2) Airbus A318 jets to replace the Embraer E170-LR airframes currently running short-haul flights. The operating economics of the A318 exceed those of the Embraer E190-LR and it's 3500+ mile range also allows the aircraft to be utilized on long-thin routes that may not necessarily work with an A319. The A318 order comes with two firm airframes as well as options for three more. The airline will decide by the end of this month whether to exercise these options. These airframes are due for delivery in two months.

Before the most recent month change, the airline placed an order for two (2) additional Airbus A330-200s that will be used in the airline's long-haul expansion plans. The A330-200 has become the workhorse of the airline's fleet and with eight (8) of them currently in revenue service, this makes us one of the largest A330-200 operators in the game. Delivery of these airframes are expected in three months.

For investment purposes, the airline most recently signed a contract with Bombardier to take delivery of three (3) Q400 turboprops. These airframes will be placed in the public market, where demand for this aircraft type is at an all-time high. The first two airframes are slated for delivery in two months, with the final one coming a month later.

Financially, February was the best month to date for the airline. We reached close to $200 million in ticket revenues, and closed the month with over $125 million in profits. This was a 30% improvement over the previous month.

Route Changes
21 March, Year 3

Today the airline announced that it has added several new destinations even amidst the shortage of widebody aircraft in the fleet. New service commenced between the airline's Tokyo/Haneda hub and Moscow (SVO) aboard the Airbus A330-200, linking Japan with Northeast Asia for the first time.

Using the airline's newly acquired USA fifth freedom rights (:P), we also commenced service between Seattle and Dallas/Ft. Worth with two daily flights. The airline will commence service between it's Tokyo/Haneda hub and Dallas next month with the arrival of the Boeing 777-200LR, as the distance of this flight is barely outside the band of the A330-200.

The aircraft being utilized for our Dallas-Seattle services was pulled from our Turkish Connection service, which has now been disbanded due to lack of profitability.

New Destinations & Transformations
24 April, Year 3

Today the airline completed its transformation from a point-to-point carrier to a full-service hub-and-spoke carrier with the phase out of almost all of its remaining P2P flights. The only P2P flights remaining in the system are our services between Hong Kong-Sapporo as well as Okinawa-Osaka/Itami. Effectively immediately all cities in the system will be serviced from the Tokyo/Haneda hub with the exception of the two P2P services previously mentioned.

With the reallocation of aircraft throughout the system, we are pleased to announce service to nine new destinations that will give us greater reach in the markets we serve. Now we fly to all airports within a 2000 mile radius of Tokyo.

Fleet Update, Destinations, and Other News
20 July, Year 3

In a formal press release issued today by corporate headquarters, the airline announced that has already introduced service from Tokyo to Milan, Italy. The flight will be operated aboard the airline's Airbus A330-200 aircraft. Once in Milan, passengers may connect to either Moscow or Athens, with both of these feeder flights also operated by A330s. The airline initially wanted to start a feeder service from Milan to Paris, but received some strict criticisms from the airport as well as competitors.

"The pressure we received from the incumbents to withdraw from the route was much greater than it's profit potential," said CEO Committed Lurker, who continued to mention "Had we continued a Milan-Paris route we were almost sure we would receive some sort of retalliation from them in the form of encroachment at our hub or potential dilution of many of our key markets, something we're not willing to take a chance on. In the end, we decided to keep the wishes of the status quo intact and take our business elsewhere."

The nonstop flights from Tokyo to Paris remain unaffected.

The airline still has numerous aircraft on order from Airbus, with two (2) Airbus A319s scheduled to enter the airline sometime late next month, as well as five (5) Airbus A330-200s which will be phased into the fleet over a period of the next one year. Our coverage from the Tokyo/Haneda hub is one of the best in Asia, and we are pleased to announce that we service literally every airport in a 3,500 mile radius of HND. Over the next couple months, the airline will conduct research to find another suitable hub location as we begin to outgrow HND and as competition continues to eat away at our marketshare.

Lastly, the airline announced today that they will be selling it's Airbus A318 aircraft once suitable A319 replacements arrive. The airline will continue to consolidate fleet types so as to streamline operations as efficiently as possible. The airline looks to maintain the A319, the A330-200, and the 777-200LR for the long term, with the A319s and A330s becoming the workhorse of the fleet. The 777-200LRs will continue to be vital to the airline, albeit they will be entering the fleet in lesser frequencies compared to the Airbus jets.

New Horizons, Expanded Fleet, and Other News
22 October, Year 3

Within the past several months, the airline has been aggressively expanding its reach throughout the world as it acquires new longhaul aircraft and reaches agreements with airport authorities regarding flights and overall services.

Over this time, we have been successful at negotiating leases and services for flights out of Anchorage, Calgary, Phoenix, and Las Vegas, thereby giving us access to eleven (11) cities in North America. With these rights, the airline has commenced services from its Tokyo/Haneda hub to Anchorage, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. On top of these services, we have also gained exclusive rights to operate through-flights out of Phoenix to both Calgary and our existing Chicago/Midway stations. All of these flights are utilized with our Airbus A330-200 jets, the workhorse of the Hawk Airlines fleet.

Airline CEO Committed Lurker is proud of the airline's accomplishments over the past several months:

"Through rigorous and ongoing negotations, we have been able to break ground in traditionally slot-restricted airports in North America that our competitors have been vying for for months. This has put us in a competitive advantage to provide our loyal customers with service to some of the greatest gateways North America has to offer."

The airline plans on linking Calgary to Tokyo within the next couple months.

Numerous orders from airlines around the world has led to a massive queue at the Airbus facilities, which may delay our newer aircraft's entry into revenue service. Currently, the airline has nine (9) additional Airbus A330-200s on backorder, with three of them scheduled for delivery over the next two months. Before the end of this month, we will officially put in another order for two (2) additional Airbus A319 jets.

The airline's subfleet of Boeing 777-200LRs has been going strong and is effectively running the airline's services that are outside the 6,500 nautical mile bandrange of the A330. Services to Dallas/Ft. Worth and Atlanta have proven to be very successful, and the airline is looking into additional destinations on the east coast of North America.

Middle East, Finland, and Other News
17 February, Year 4

With the ongoing acquisition of new Airbus A330-200 aircraft, the airline is pleased to announce that it has commenced service from its Tokyo/Haneda hub to two of the finest destinations in the Middle East: Cairo and Riyadh. There will also be through-flight service from Riyadh to our Paris/CDG station with the local traffic rights we were able to receive. Airline CEO Committed Lurker stated, "Our service to Cairo marks our first presence in Africa, and the Riyadh service will give many Japanese Moslems the chance to visit the Holy Land."

Prior to the Middle East launch, the airline also commenced its first services to Scandinavia via Helsinki, Finland. At Helsinki, the airline received traffic rights to carry local passengers to and from Helsinki to our existing stations at Athens and Paris/CDG. From CDG, there is a through-flight to our London/Heathrow gateway, although local traffic cannot be carried on this flight. These expansions have allowed the airline to open its first crew bases outside Japan in both Helsinki and Paris.

Updating the airline's fleet situation, we still have five (5) Airbus A330-200s on backorder, with four (4) of them expected to enter service within the next two months. We also have seven (7) Airbus A319s on backorder that will be utilized to help the airline establish its next hub. That hub location is yet to be determined.
