In Topic: Spamline?

I wouldn't call that a spam line.  That's a highly centralized route network from airports that support real world hubs.

The only things that makes a spam line a spam line in my book is the circular blue pax (i.e. flying from tiny airport to tiny airport with a massive amount of seats, hubs on each end...)

The airline is bigger than a real world counterpart, but AE also has about 4x the O&D demand for most airports in the world.

So, symptom of the game rules, yes.  Spam line, no.

This could be done with much less intrusive game rules.  First and foremost, only using O&D pax to calculate the blue pax.  That would be just a tiny tweak to game rules rather than adding new mechanics.

Spam lines based in the EU will sometimes open hubs at every major airport and use up all the gates. So a new airline comes along but can't find any places to be HQ at because of low amount of gates and they don't have the money to build a new terminal yet

That is strategy and real airlines did it too...we all remember "No way, BA!", and "Britain's flag carrier"...

I deliberately will use larger aircraft into competitive airports without a terminal so I don't fill all my slots just to keep out competition.

Why only those cities? What made you choose those?

It's a recognition of vacationing habits.

Caribbean destinations are for beach vacationers.  Coastal dwellers tend not to visit beaches, or visit US beaches in summer.  Those within driving range of a beach tend to visit that beach and seek other vacation destinations.  MSP, Chicago, and DEN are unique in having large enough populations, air-oriented travel habits (being relatively far from other large cities), with bad enough winters, far enough away from the beach that winter beach vacations are popular--and popular enough to support non-stop flights.  I probably should have included NYC in there too just for its sheer size.

The point is to use connecting pax to fill the flights as is the case in the real world.  Only DEN, MSP, and ORD could realistically support O&D flights, and then only from fall to spring.  I'd contend demand here is about 4x what it is in the real world (a figure that's true almost across the board).
