Yeah, my profits are the same, but think there is gonna be some nastiness as people start resetting their ticket prices.

All mine got changed to 160. Fortunately, there were no changes to profits. I learned one thing. Always write down your ticket prices.

Sounds like someone's been playing with the database...

looks like it happened accross-the-board. look at any major airport, LAX LAH, CDG, a great majority of them are at $160

There are no slaves to the db, so there is no running backup. The database can barely keep up with the current one.

But if profits are the same will we actually need to re-set them?

Probably because people would want to enter new routes, and then the profits willl probably be recalculated anyway.

The problem now is that since nobody will want to charge much higher prices than their competitors, the routes that previous could maintain fares higher than $160 will probably never return to their initial state. I mean imagine you have a route with three airlines A, B and C, and that had say around $300 fare. Now imagine that A wants to set his ticket price back to $300. He couldn't do that, since then he would be losing money, who'd want to pay $300 for a flight they can get for $160? Neither could B or C set the fares back, for the same reason. So unless the airlines come to some kind of agreement, everybody's eventually gonna end up making less money than before.

Of course, if the loadfactor script is written so that it supports a gradual shift back to an equilibrum price, i.e. if A could first set like 170 and gain on that, and B would then be able to set $180 ticket price etc, and eventually they reach a price that's beneficial for all three airlines. But still, we have a very long road ahead of us...

Edit: This is why I'm heading off to set $180 or so fares on many routes, and I urge all other airlines to follow!

i don't find a real problem with resetting my prices back to normal. it looks more like the $160 is just cosmetic =

Man, for those of us with 100+ routes, this bites the big chihuahua. Oh well! I'll just have to adjust them as they require, saves me time that way.

oooo s*** this will be bad if you wan't to open a new Route.....no one will change back their ticket prices.....:o:(

I mean if you have 10 other airlines on the same Route...then you'll have a big problem with setting back to the old price if its higher then 160..:P:(

This is bad:(:P

:P:(:):(:)
