Boston
-About to surpass 40 million passengers in a tightly confined space.
-Most air gates are very utilized/at capacity.
-Demand in Boston is soaring, but limited space inhibits future growth of the city's airport.
-Terminal E expansion will contain about 10 new gates stretching the cargo side (North).
My Suggestion for Future Redesign
-Expand 33L about 1,500ft to handle larger aircrafts. Does not interfere with any Boston Harbor shipping routes, or MBTA Ferry services. However tall ships will have to relocate 700 feet outward, to comply with FAA Regulations.
-Expand Terminal A Airside by 10-12 gates, with relocating Delta/Fed Ex Cargo further south.
-Possibly delete 14/32 Runway, limit and transfer civi aircraft service to Bedford Airport or Norwood Regional.
-In the future to meet demands at KBOS, provide a satleite terminal out by the satelite firehoue through underground people mover from Terminal C with infill of land. Very costly, but only if 12-20 gate satelite terminal needed desperately.
