#55492 Sim 1 and 2 Reset this Weekend

Posted by AdvanceAirlines on 09 May 2008 - 05:54 AM in Announcements

I was making up to $700,000 from a single route when I was operating turboprops around Japan - how is this not 'playing it real'?

Yes, i've just shut my airline on Sim2, but that's because i've lost interest, not because I was going bankrupt.

It takes a real pro to kick butt at any game or career - its the same with Sim2.

Glennos would be one of the biggest beneficiaries of such realism and difficulty, as he doesn't operate on the routes he wants to, just the ones that are profitable, thus making his airlines, lin2mxp or KaaiElEm or whatever you want to call them, so profitable.

Really there's no preference - you go where the money is.

but no one was ever talking about sim2... i just stated that in sim1 there is still plenty of routes to go on, and even existing ones that have multiple airlines on them can be profitable unlike in sim2... and ya its really easy to make a large profit when you put an a330 size aircraft on a regional flight or one that would never have them in the real world...

He's correcting your statistics!

"i just stated that in sim1 there is still plenty of routes to go on, and even existing ones that have multiple airlines on them can be profitable unlike in sim2..."

You just, again, called Sim2 unprofitable.

Glennos/KaaiElEm has stated, with evidence, that this is not so.

But you then told him his information was irrelevant and continued to make an inaccurate point.

Got it? ;)

Exactly. I'm just saying maybe a bit more adjustment is in order. ;)

I was considering that maybe it was just my routes in particular, but many other people, including Watsup who used to be a Top 10 contender, seem to be having the same issue.

Auto-pricing is amazing! I love that feature. But whatever has been changed since last round should be changed back, in my opinion. (Auto-pricing has been around for a few rounds now, I think.)

Surely you must also have experienced quite a few falls in DOP in comparison to past rounds.

 Not a great outlook with whatever they've done to their system.

3x A330 and 1x A380 and i'm barely pushing $1mil but that will soon be gone as well.

See you next round, Watsup. :sniff:

i. Used aircraft market - I think we should revert back to the old system, because the new one is bugged, difficult, and kills off majority of the purpose of an alliance. Multiple times this system has screwed up on me and I have reverted to mothballing my aircraft instead of selling them.

ii. DOP - I think we should DEFINATELY revert back to whatever the old system was on this.. it is impossible to make decent profit and actually progress as an airline.. I have 3x A330's and 1x A380 and am just barely pushing $1mil DOP.. and i'm sure even that won't last long. Routes that are currently being flown and are successful are calculated in the game to send you bankrupt in a week.

Oh, okay.

Sorry, I should have looked at the other forum posts a little closer.. I only skimmed the topics and thought 'okay, new post'.

Thanks for that.

#54755 Opening a Hub

Posted by AdvanceAirlines on 08 March 2008 - 09:49 AM in Game Discussion (SIM2)

Casey, congrats on opening a hub, and good luck with your airline.

I was told by someone that your loads should go up slightly.. but only if the demand is there.

If you look at people's statistics well into the round, a lot of airlines have more than five hubs - why would they pay double each month for these hubs if it weren't giving them something in return?

Or that's what i'm thinking, anyway.

Best of luck - hope you find your answer.

- Advance.

Advance has accepted its first aircraft into the fleet - the Q100, a popular regional turboprop.

With four of these aircraft currently in the fleet, we will be recieving another eight in the future, to be used on intra-Asian flights, and up to four leased to other carriers.

It has yet been decided, though, what they will be using on short-haul and long-haul services.

Simsmart is right.

Just think of it as going for a job interview.

Come to our forum, try to sell yourself to us, and then wait for a response from the alliance to see if you have been accepted.

Best of luck. :D

I wish you the best of luck - but i'm already in an alliance.

You might wish to state whether you are Sim1 or Sim2 - or people might get confused.

Cheers.

You may also want to join an alliance - members of your alliance will often be extremely helpful, and may even offer aircraft discounts.

private sales dont expire, but the seller can withdraw them, and that is what appears to have happened with your sale.

#54593 (Sim1) Overcharged for Gates?

Posted by AdvanceAirlines on 04 March 2008 - 12:57 AM in Bugs

Once you're settled, AE won't let you down. :D

I've been around for a few rounds now, and have experienced very few errors.

Most of the errors I did experience are extremely similar to yours:

1. Issues with the email when signing up.
2. Gate issues during my first few weeks.

#54591 Sim 2 Registration error

Posted by AdvanceAirlines on 04 March 2008 - 12:49 AM in Bugs

Yikes! I really do feel so sorry for you, considering you're new, haha.

But it happens.. especially when Miller updates things..

But somebody useful WILL appear eventually. :D

#54589 (Sim1) Overcharged for Gates?

Posted by AdvanceAirlines on 04 March 2008 - 12:46 AM in Bugs

Yeah, sucky concept, but most of the time it fixes up before then.

#54585 (Sim1) Overcharged for Gates?

Posted by AdvanceAirlines on 04 March 2008 - 12:31 AM in Bugs

A common occurance, there have been several posts about this in the past.. Or maybe they were for Sim2..

To my knowledge, this goes away after a while, and there is no proper reason for it.

#54584 Sim 2 Registration error

Posted by AdvanceAirlines on 04 March 2008 - 12:22 AM in Bugs

How unfortunate.. hopefully somebody more experienced comes along shortly. :D

Sorry your experience had to start this way - but once you're in, everything is in perfect working order, I assure you.

OK. Thanks. I saw that but wasnt sure what it meant.

Yeah, it seems as though Miller has let everyone in to establish themselves before the clock starts ticking this time. :shappy:
