Maybe he likes the attention?

Anyway, we have heard enough of this type of thing, why doesn't someone just prevent him from posting in the forums - I mean he would still be able to play the game but wouyldn't have the opportunity to scream bloody murder at everyone?

Qantas - widebodies on SYD-MEL/BRS

I never knew Qantas did Sydney - Bristol, North East Somerset, UK.

I think you mean BNE.

I expected more of you Mr Maestro.

P.S. Bristol is the best spotting airport I can get to myself - Continental 757s! Can't wait for Transat (A310) and FlyGlobespan (767) to Toronto flying over my house.

#47143 BPE - Mucky Pup Fleet Renewal

Posted by EXTspotter on 08 April 2007 - 10:01 PM in Airline Press Releases

BritishPanEuropean has today announced it is too speed up the fleet renewal of ATRs for small jets.

To begin with, it was thought Boeing 717 aircraft would replace the ATR aircraft in the fleet. This was a big whoopsie by the company as it was a thirsty beast and had a tendancy to not like the cold norwegian winter, nor summer for that matter. With a heavy heart, the decision was taken to pull the plug on the BPE envolvement of the 717 programme. At this point, the BPE fleet consisted of a single 717, which didn't replace anything and 5 ATR 42s. In an effort to actually get a cheap runabout for you and a hundred of your closest friends, we turned to airbus to take the horrible horned beast that was the thorny 717 and trade it for something efficient, reliable and soulless, therefore we plumped for the middle of the road A320. Frugal, dependable and with about as much character as a beige anorak, it was perfect. There was only one problem, the 717 got upset and cried hydraulic fluid all over the nice clean airbus floor and like a naughty puppy they wouldn't take it. Never mind, the executives thought, at least the A320 would replace something. Wrong again, the A320 was to big for most routes. Trying again, we bought a new A318, and finally replaced 2 ATRs. Huzzah.

Current BPE Fleet:
1 x A318
1 x A320
1 x 717
3 x ATR 42

#47141 73g?

Posted by EXTspotter on 08 April 2007 - 09:47 PM in Real World Aviation

In a number of airline industry forums, people use the term 73G for 737-700 aircraft, is this simply because if they did the done thing - 731, 732, 733... when you get to 737-700 it would be 737 and confusing, if so what does the G stand for?

I am not trying to look like a noob but I never understood exactly why it was done that way.

#47023 BritishPanEuropean Buys First Jet

Posted by EXTspotter on 03 April 2007 - 05:40 PM in Airline Press Releases

BritishPanEuropean Airlines has today confirmed the purchase of their first jet aircraft, a Boeing 717-200 built to order for us by Boeing at their Long Beach facility. We hope this first order is one of many for the 717 line.

The 717's biggest operator in this game is LAPSA, who is very pleased with the type, this being confirmed by 10 orders of the type.

717's will replace the BPE ATR fleet and it is hoped the fleet renewal will be completed within the year.
