What about those that want to run a pure long haul airline? It kinda messes up the initial fleet when you have to pay two lots of maintenance until that lease on the initial 737-300 or whatever runs out while you try to slowly build a fleet of 747s (a la Virgin Atlantic).

Well you chose a bad airline to copy, SAS is a pretty special airline in that it was formed by a consortium of three airlines, the flag carriers of Norway, Denmark and Sweden. So SAS is neither Danish, Norwegian or Swedish but in fact all three. The operation had taken place by 1951 since when most bilateral aviation agreements took place and the airline grew as the government sponsored and flag carrier for the three countries.
Also look up Gulf Air.

Depends which country I'm in, but in the UK a Blue '08 Range Rover (with the Supercharged 4.2 V8) and in Norway a '14 brown Audi A6 Allroad (Bi Turbo 3.0 V6).
