In Topic: Staff Training Cost

Could it be that the number of new employees needed is rounded up each month? Whilst this is not a problem for a big airline (whether you need 87 or 88 new pilots each month), it makes big problems for small airlines: Having to train 1 or 2 pilots due to fluctuation makes a difference of 100%. Even worse are the costs for executives: Although I have only 3 executives and an attrition rate of 2.7% for them, I have to pay $240,000 each month for training executives.

How are the per flight costs calculated? And when are those one-time-costs charged?

In Topic: A330-300 and B777-200 range

Airbus and Boeing's websites

http://www.airbus.co...specifications/
10800km = 6710mi

http://www.boeing.co...200product.html
9700km = 6027mi

The interesting thing is that in AE the distances are calculated in statute miles, although in aerospace usually nautical miles are used. A funny coincidence is that the maximum range of the A330-300 is indeed 6700 nautical miles, but with a payload of amazing 0 kg.

Next to being interesting, there is a problem in using statute miles instead of nautical miles. The speed in AE is given in knots, i.e. nautical miles per hour, but when calculating the flight time, this figure is directly used without converting it to statue miles per hour: All airplanes are 13% too slow.

And actually there is also another problem: AE does not include the payload. For example, the range of an A330-300 with 295 pax is 6700 statute miles, with 350 pax (the maximum in AE) it is only 6200 statute miles, and with 440 pax (the actual maximum capacity) it is down to 5000 statute miles.

In Topic: New way to set seat configuration

Adding more classes and making you guys name them with your on pitches and etc would take more time to implement than cargo. :/

Well, I'm not in the developing team, so I don't have to think about the implementation ;-)

But actually I am against the idea of putting passengers into classes, instead it would be better to have a continuous demand for service, and then the passenger decides which airline fits best.

By the way: The actual reason for my suggestion was that I don't know how the seat pitch in AE is calculated, but I somehow guess it is related to the maximal passenger capacity. However, the passenger capacity does not always correlate with the cabin space. E.g. the 767-300 allows more passengers (350) than the A340-200 (292), although it is 5 metres shorter and half a metre thinner. And even if the seat pitch in AE is calculated in comparison to the actual cabin space and not the maximum capacity, as a player I only have the maximum capacity as a number. That's why I suggest to set the seat pitch and width and AE calculates then the number of seats, instead of you give the number of seats and AE calculates the pitch.

I wouldn't call them full either. Just started in AE2 again (after due to lack of time and internet problems I had to neglect my airlines until they were deleted...) in Tel Aviv, and there are so many routes without competition that I my airline could be already worth some billions, if I would just go on profit. And as long as I can't fly within Europe for 99$ return, there is definitely not enough competition. I guess that there have to be more than the current maximum of 250 airlines in a world to ensure that, so actually NO world can be called full.
