Thank to the dev team for the beta version, loving it!
one thing im facing is the time it takes to set up IFS. given the concept of different IFS depending on range of flights, the various IFS options, prices, quality, costs, numerous catering options again tied up with price, quality and costs and finally assigning them to different classes, etc etc i think theres too much micro management involved. Just wondering will it make the concept boring to deal with after some time of game play and managing huge fleets and large route networks. I suggest the IFS setting to be a little more simpler. Im not against the IFS, its a wonderful thing which i myself suggested on the forum previously and it makes the game more realistic.
One thing i can suggest is option for breakfast, dinner, lunch and snacks can be tied up with timetabling once introduced..
nevertheless just my two cents!
cheers

Some people are always asking for more customization options (and complaining we can't change the seat material) while others prefer not to micromanage as much. I'm in the latter group and have never been enthusiastic about the micro details of IFS (which is why un1 manages that and not me), but it doesn't hurt to have the options available for people who do want to play with them.
To simplify things you can create just 2-3 IFS schemes (one for each class) and apply them to all routes and ignore the distance customizations.

it depends on the mood though wether i'll used the micromanagement-style or simple-style gameplan. hey, this game is about fun! if micromanagement-style is fun for you, then this should do the work! but if you like a simpler gameplay style, just forget that stuff!
after all, it's a game for all!

i do like micromanagement but i love something simple at the same time.
i second you on that!

That's what I was actually about to suggest. The default ones are just the basics, based on what you'd reasonably expect on a flight.Pre-made/default IFS schemes perhaps?
Something like this could be the default options:
'Short Range IFS': free snacks (Level 1 @ $0.75/passenger) and free newspapers ($0.95/passenger)
'Medium Range IFS': free snacks (Level 1 or 2), free reading material, free lunch (Level 1)
'Long Range IFS': free snacks (Level 2 or 3), free reading material, free pillows and/or blankets, free dinner
For the long range flights, you're losing maybe $40-50 per passenger, but that should be fine until there starts to be more competition: what's $40 per person if they're paying $1200/ticket?
- 3x Airbus A319-100
- 14x Airbus A320-200*†
- 2x Antonov An-72*†
- 2x ATR ATR-72-500
- 1x BAe Systems Avro RJ85*
- 2x Boeing 717-200
- 8x Boeing 737-700
- 9x Boeing 757-300
- 2x Bombardier CRJ-200LR*
- 5x Bombardier Q400
- 1x Embraer ERJ-145ER

Pre-made/default IFS schemes perhaps?
Have fun implementing it.
My preference:
3 configs, 1 for Y, C and F. 3 stars for Y 4 for C and 5 for F. Set them all to the route defaults, ignore IFS for the rest of the game.

How do we know which meal is appropriate to use when we don't have timetabling?
It randomly chooses a meal(s) depending on flying time.

i never charged passangers for the IFS, just like Reaper said, even losing up to $100 is fine as long as you have $1000 ticket price. think about it as a part of marketing program.
If only real airlines think like that

the main advantage of the IFS is to somewhat chose what type of airline you operate, low cost or high service.

Also, in the current regular meal option, there are 5 choices of quality. Some do have a big gap in between them. What I want to suggest is to reduce the quality option, but add the variation; e.g. between regular meal and vegetarian meal. (so for example, there will still be 5 options but consist of 3 quality of regular meal and 2-option for vegetarian meal).
P.S. Special meals can be separated from vegetarian meals nowadays in the sense that special meals are described as special meal due to religious requirement (e.g. Halal, Kosher, Hindu meal, etc) and special meal due to diet requirement (e.g. low fat, low sodium, high fibre, etc).
