As the sim2 beta draws to a close over the next month, I'm planning to implement some major changes to AE as a whole:

New Game Worlds
The current "sim2 beta" will be officially released and separated into two game worlds: one a free world with little/no arbitrary restrictions like gate leasing, and one with more structure (political boundaries, gate leasing limits, minimum frequencies, foreign hub restrictions, etc). This way, players will be able to choose their preferred style of gameplay. This will also help relieve crowding in each game world. The current sim2 will be retired.

New Home Page and Unified Accounts
We will be moving to http://www.airlineempires.org and setting up a new home page with a regularly updated news feed, as the developers do not have access to the airlineempires.net site (which is still controlled by Miller only). Each player will have one master account for AE, which is linked to an airline in each game world. You will have to log in only once to access all the game worlds.

Sim3 (AE Classic) will remain as a legacy server as long as enough players (50+) stay active.

Before this transition, I will add IFE (in flight entertainment) to the loadfactor calculations. Otherwise, there will be no new features added to the beta; the developers will focus on fixing the remaining bugs between now and the reset. Our plan is to make the transition in late July or early August, though this may change if unforeseen circumstances pop up between now and then. I will update this post over the next month as the details are revised and solidified.

Once we have timetabling, we can set up a mock airline booking site (think expedia.com except in the AE world). It's just a fun thing to play with :D

I like this idea, is there any way it could be expedited?

There should be a seat map of the aircraft and the seats filled should reflect the load factor.

The number of planes you have sitting there doing nothing (usually after delivery). It helps keep track of which airlines need attention if you have a lot of them :D

Looking good - is it correct to assume that you can link multiple accounts in each sim to your one forum account, from that image?

Yes, if multiple accounts are allowed in that sim.

Can't wait yuxi Looks like your doing great! P.S. I would recommend having it show what exact year the sim is one next the bar that shows the sim time progress so we don't have to guess... ;) If I missed it, just point it out to me...^_^
