well where should i start?
*Lufthansa
* two costomers for the 747-8i
* all orders are commercial orders:D
* more airlines will buy it, just a matter of time to proove itself. it actually will be more economical than the A380.
and the reason is simple. engines.
747- 4 engines
777-2 engines, 777 can carry very similar loads, and has very similar range but uses less gas.

Why would an Airline like Lufthansa order the 747-8 and A380, while at the same time get rid of the 747-400?
once again, one reason... money...
and dont forget those -400 will be replaced with -8i's... what is interesting though, is that their 747-8i will carry more passengers than the A380's they ordered will

Well Air France LOVE Airbus and are probably getting rid rid of the 747, and making way for the A380. SAA's last 747 flight was 1 november 2007
Thats because the headquarters of airbus is in france and with Air France being a state owned entity they will be more inclined to look after their own :airplane
