Nantes (NTE). Beautiful part of the world, decent passenger numbers and nobody else flies there.

Plenty of spamlines to simulate less than ideal economic and operating conditions. I like the challenge.

Among all big airports in Europe and the Middle East with 100 or more gates, AYT is relatively the least competitive, meaning I can fly lots of monopoly routes and make massive profits--another factor that makes it my favorite airport. Although I now have a direct competitor at AYT in World S4B, my airline still has the lion's share at that airport... http://ae31.airline-...ae3s4b&player=4ORD

It depends.
In the US, it is Raleigh-Durham (often relatively empty, decent enough numbers for international service).
In Europe, Amsterdam and SXM (not really Europe, but you get EU access and then I move to AMS after a year or so) are my favorites to start. I almost always end up with 319s and EJets out of LCY though in the end...
In Africa, it is Dar Es Salaam. I just like Tanzania for some reason.
and lastly...in Latin America, it's Lima.

PEK if it is a new world
Gate cost is not huge compare to other operating factors
Or PVG and I fly ultra-short routes (les than 200 miles) from there and make tons of profit with spam IFS
An A320 can make me more than 600000 per day with spam ifs and ultra short routes
If in the US I will start in San Jose.

Recently made it through africa and I think choosable are also KGL (Kigali in Rwanda) DKR (Dakar Senegal) ABJ (Abidjan Cote D'Ivoire) or any other of the not so well known african Airports with much more than the gate fees let assume.. Kigali is like 5k$ and I had 747 routes though. Also very interesting ist colombo in sri lanka, not always thought of I think. Or, if you like it regional, KTM (Guess that's the right code for kathmandu in nepal).. But I think the gate system in AE needs an overhaul.. all gates are used, but just like 15% of the actual possible slots..

LED - good airport to make a "bridge" between Europe and Asia. it's not many routes for 747, but not have to airplanes with very long range(4500-5000 miles range is enough for fly to Asia from LED). A lot of players start in Moscow, LED is good airport to avoid competition in the begin of the game.
