Sunshine Airways Fleet Renovation
Apr 14, 01
Los Angeles, CA - Los Angeles based airline, Sunshine Airways, has announced its intent to rid itself of one of its Beech 1900D. Earlier this month, the airline sold off one and picked up a used Dornier 328. "By switching from Beeches to Dorniers, the airline is able to increase total number of seats offered thus generating greater revenue," commented the airline's CEO.

Sunshine Airways Selects Embraer
Apr 19, 01
Los Angeles, CA - After failed attempts to incorperate a new Dornier to the fleet, Sunshine Airways has decided to purchase a brand-new Embraer regional jet. The model is the ERJ 145ER. Sunshine Airways already flys the ERJ 135ER. Sunshine Airways stated "This was the best choice for us. We where looking at the Saab 2000 but decided in the RJ due to its comfort and we believe this plane would fly with us longer than a prop aircraft." Sunshine Airways will take delivery of the aircraft next month at it's LAX MX base.

717 Selected by Sunshine Airways
July 18, 01
Los Angeles, CA - Sunshine Airways and Boeing have come to a deal that will provide one Boeing 717-200 to Sunshine Airways. Rumors say that Sunshine Airways was looking for an Embraer jet but negociations fell when Embaer was no able to assure a quick delivery date. This will be the airline's first 100+ seat aircraft.
Airbus was also in negociations with Sunshine Airways, but Airbus did not want to give away an A380.

Sunshine Airways Celebrates Mexican Independence Day
Sept 16, 01
Los Angeles, CA - Sunshine Airways has anounced that it will be offering free drinks, snacks and sombreros on all its routes to Mexico. Unfortunately, the airline only flys one route to Mexico. SA00006 flight from LAX to Tijuana Mexico operated by an Embraer ERJ-135ER five times daily is the only route where this offer is valid.
In fleet news, it is rumored that Sunshine Airways will order another aircraft. It is rumored that the aircraft being looked at are the Boeing 717-200, Boeing 737-600 and Airbus 318. Both the Embraer jets and CRJ-900s have been ruled out due to the inability to have them delivered quickly. Posters at a well known airliner website forum claim that the A318 will win the deal being that "The 737 shares the fuselage cross-section as a 707 thus making it superoutdated" and "Boeing doesn't care about the 717 because its just a MDD product."

Easy on that MD stuff. Don't waste your money on the b717 or A318. Just save a little more money and get the A320 or A321. :)

Sunshine Airways Orders Mixed Fleet
Jan 5, 02
Los Angeles, CA - Sunshine Airways ordered one Airbus 319 and one Boeing 717. The order comes as a shock to self-proclamed aviation experts around the world. When asked, one of these 'experts' told us, "This is purely politics. Boeing used political pressure to get an order from Sunshine Airways. The 717 is a dead aircraft anyways."
Management informed the newspaper that it would have loved to have purchased a couple of A319s, an agreement couldn't be reached. "The 717 has proven itself to be a great aircraft for the airline so we chose it after we could only assure one Airbus." The airline opened 3 new routes this month.

Sunshine Airways Orders Its First Widebody
Feb 13, 03
Mexico City, Mexico - Sunshine Airways, which serves both Los Angeles, California and Mexico City, Mexico, has announced that it has ordered it's first widebody aircraft. The airline announced that it purchased an Airbus 330-300. The route this aircraft will serve is still under study. The delivery date is still unknown.
Sunshine Airways is also looking for some more narrowbody aircraft. Rumors say a couple of 717s may be ordered sometime near the end of the month. Some posters at a well known airliner website also claim that they may order a CRJ-900 even though the line may be long.

Sunshine Airways Announces Bombardier Order
Feb 24, 03
Mexico City, Mexico - After a long study, Sunshine Airways has decided to order 3 Bombardier aircraft. This includes 2 CRJ-900ERs and 1 CRJ-200ER. This comes as a shock to some because Sunshine Airways already operates the ERJ-145. The new aircraft will arrive at Mexico City in a couple of months. The aircraft are to serve American cities with low demand where the 717 is not practical to use.

Sunshine Airways Unhappy with A340-600
Apr 15, 04
Los Angeles, CA - Los Angeles based airline Sunshine Airways claims that it it unhappy with the Airbus 340-600. "The aircraft is too large for our fleet plans. Also because of its length, we have to use a gate at TBIT and our custumers are not happy about that." Sunshine Airways is rumored to be planning on selling it due to its low route performance.

Sunshine Airways Happy With Widebodies
Nov 22, 04
Los Angeles, CA - Sunshine Airways, Los Angeles number one carrier, has announced that it is happy with its long-haul aircraft. Sunshine Airways recently recieved its order of A330-200s. The aircraft are being used on thinner routes from LAX. The airline is also in love with its Boeing 777-200ERs. "This aircraft lets us fly to airports out of the reach of the others [A330s] and also lets us fly our old A340-600 route more profitably."
It is rumored that another batch of A330s will be ordered soon. No specific models disclosed. The airline also said that it is interested in more 777s, specifically the -200LRs.
One 757-200 will probably enter the fleet next month. The airline hopes for more 757s to come soon.
