Virgin, today, released the pictures of their new A330 upper class that has, until now, been under wraps. This is the product they will be battling British Airways with on the golden goose of all routes; LHR-JFK.

There are aspects of the design I really like, such as the folding chair/bed shown at 0:37 on the video and the eight-foot bar - 'the longest on any aeroplane'! However, the positioning of the seats seems to be the same old, same old - for which I am not a huge fan. I prefer the British Airways First Class, or dare I say the new AA 777-300ER business class layout? - which I feel offers more width than the current VS herringbone arrangement.

Your thoughts?

If this is an A330... imagine what their A380s will look like :alarm:

Is it really enough space on an A330 to do that? O_O

Their future A380`s Upper class have to be amazing when they can do this with an A330-300.... :o

The cabin ambience is awesome, but I'm not sure I like to turn my head sideway to enjoy IFE during long haul flight.

I believe the IFS screen comes out on a hinge. The problem isn't the IFS, it's having to crane your neck sideways to look out the window.

Perhaps the window also has a hinge :)

Hmm
I like the seat's overall looks, and it fits with Virgin's brand image excellently.
However, I find it interesting there are only three seats at the bar.
But, as others have said, the two largest issues with this seat are the lack of proper window views and the difficulty of travelling with a companion.
I do like it a lot, though.

Well, actually 6 if you count the stools on the other side of the bar. The bar is in a 'V' shape, in the picture you only see one side.

Tour doesn't show anything else on the other side as far as I remember.

My bad, I stand corrected.
