I know this idea may sound silly but... here goes!
Could (along with terminals) runways be built (only usable by the airline that built it)? It's annoying when a (potentially profitable) route can't be flown because of runway restrictions! I know the idea is vague but could somebody get back to me on this?

Well, my thoughts are that I think Airline Empires tries to be as realistic as possible with the real world, and since airlines don't build runaways I don't think this will be added or even considered!

Does that not mean airports such as London City could see 747s and A380s if an airline decided to extend or build a new runway entirely?
Hardly realistic.

Airport expansion is also limited by demand, available space and local regulations.

Particularly in the early days, the boundaries between Aeroflot, the airport's authorities, and the state for that matter, were very blurred.

Just like saying that "Cubana de Aviacion" builds runways today
