I think that Sheepy Has a really good idea with the Different aircraft take up different space,It makes AE more realistic beacuse you wont see A 747 at a gate with a CRJ-100 in the next gate would you?

Air Maple, your gateway to the North. / AirToronto, from A to YTZ.

Run for your lives, developers! A new leader has come into town!

or it might be a good idea to ask politely? Wherever has common courtesy gone? :banned:

I like the 1990 start date, a 1995 or 2000 date would be too close to R Delta imho.

I liked TW and it's gone. NW, and it's gone. CO, and it's gone. Pray I don't like you.

so howabout a realistic 1970 world so its a different time period than R-Delta and a 2000 Open because there is a 1970's open world and the only other open world is in 2018, the world goes to 2025

I'd much rather 1990 :/ 1995 Cuts off quite a few nice planes, and gives less time to acquire others. CoughMD80Cough :P

Agreed. 1990 is a much better start date.

I agree with a 1990 starting date for an R game. Perhaps a 300 airline world with a maximum of 4 airlines per player would balance things.
There could also be a twist, while the user can operate 4 airlines it can only be done in a maximum of 2 regions i.e. 4 in NA or 3 in Europe and 1 in Africa or 2 in Asia and 2 in the Middle east but not 1 in NA 1 in SA 1 in Afirca and 1 in Asia.

One gate rented = fifty gate slots. If aircraft is small (Under 100 seats), it uses 0.5 slots.
If an aircraft is a narrowbody, it uses 1 slot.
If an aircraft is a widebody, it uses 2 slots.

Genius!

Hopefully a new Open world would be accompanied by a new Real world too, for those of us who like Real only. All the Reals are approaching the end slash not fun to play territory :)

We already have a new gate/slot capacity system planned for AE 4 (as listed in the development plans), and the aircraft size will be a part of it.

As for new worlds, I will probably just reset R5 (keeping the 1995 start date) and add 1-2 theme games (one hub limit, etc) :P

Sounds as if you might be moving over to take off and landing slots as against gates. Excellent!

One hub limit? Oh god...

Also, what other theme games have been suggested/are in consideration?

I'd rather have a realistic world starting 1990. I think 1990 is a really good year to start, planes are not too old and not too new

If you guys insist on starting in 1990 (basically a copy of R4), I'm open to that.

Now the question is: end in 2020 or 2030? :P
