Frankly, I think we need a new realistic world as well... R-Delta is getting overcrowded if you don't want to base in a tiny airport no-one's heard of.
I just started at Keflavik, it already has -10 gates and it's a nightmare to expand (seeing as there are practically no gates left anywhere in Europe).
Yuxi, may I suggest that 600 players is too many for a single game world?

That is true, my European airlines struggle to grow, the base for my airline Virgin UK is Belfast International and there are no gates left, I had to build a terminal to grow. Also, from my regional operating base at Belfast City I cannot fly to many man UK airports as they have no gates.I agree. Two hundred and fifty would seem to be the best number, in my opinion.
Alternatively, airlines being limited by regions could prevent mass-Euro/America overcrowding...

It is not, but a world with 600 airlines run by only 150-200 people is too many.
600-airline world with one airline per player would be very nice.

Actually there are 345 players (not airlines) in Rδ. But it's a fun experiment nevertheless

However if you use the 'gate' definition....
-RJs have shorter turn time.
-Use up less space (2RJs fit on one 737 gate).
Possible system I've considered, to include runway slots...
"Total available runway slots at airport" (At a five gate airport, this would be two hundred and fifty).
All runway slots would be shared out to all operators at the airport, except for possibly those with terminals. (Something to look into). They would be paid for automatically as a part of the route finance page.
"Number of gates"
One gate rented = fifty gate slots. If aircraft is small (Under 100 seats), it uses 0.5 slots.
If an aircraft is a narrowbody, it uses 1 slot.
If an aircraft is a widebody, it uses 2 slots.
