Since I'm terrible at designing logos and I can't seem to figure out where this one should go, I figure I'd ask the experts around here.

Californian Corporate Logo

This is the current livery and logo being used; but I'm stumped as to what comes next?  Figure that logo has been in use since the late 70s, and now in 2018 we're looking at changing something up.

Obviously, there's gotta be continuity with the brand established, but I'm creatively stumped...  Figure the logo would be on the tail, and would probably be on a sort of euro-white livery now.

Any ideas, boys and girls?

Something that unifies the logo, builds on it, and modernizes it. A new font would change so much. Removing the stripes to make one large gradient would help too. I made you a demo logo to show what I mean. If you want to use this, go ahead. If not, use this as advice.

Here's my two cents on this.

Today's rebrandings are all about keeping the core elements, and reforming the rest of them. I figured that what's most important here is the bear (which is on the Californian flag) and the sunrise colours (yellow, orange, red). Doing that, I got this:

I really hope the changes I've made aren't too radical to the brand's integrity. You previously said that you want something akin to Alaska, so I went for a low-costy approach.

Hmm, I really like that tail.  The bear is a little abstract, but that's workable...

I kinda have this laid out for a base template to work with, if that helps. disregard the billboard text, I was just trying to annoy bAnderson haha.  But I could incorporate the tail stripes into the whole rear of the fuselage.

Something more Tech and Liberal. Also rich. Maybe go for blue colors for the democratic party as well?

That livery is honestly stunning. The colours represent California in a way that words cannot. The orange could represent the deserts, while the yellow could represent the beaches and reds the desert may be the sunsets? You should try to incorporate a dark green to represent the trees? Anyhow, amazing livery!

The golden yellowish color could also symbolized wealth as in gold.

Californian Gold Rush back in the day or the fact that California is the Richest state in the US. If they became a country, they would be the 5th richest country in the world by GDP alone.
