Kalakala Airlines - 2018 New Livery

Following AeroCalifornia Group's order of 60 of the then Bombardier CSeries jets destined for various airlines in the group a series of announcements were made regarding the brands within the group, New Mexico based Sunwest was to receive a refreshed livery to be revealed on the A320neo, as would AeroCalifornia who's updated livery features a simplified tail while remaining the same basic design. Santa Ana based regional carrier Surfrider was to be the first airline in the group to operate the CSeries to replace its current fleet of Embraer 190 jets with the first ones flying from Palm Springs.

Notable absent from this announcement was the second largest airline in the group Kalakala Airlines who was only confirmed as being a customer for the CSeries and A320neo. September this year however, an aviation photographer secured a photo of an unpainted Kalakala A320neo with its tail wrapped in plastic speculated to disguise its destined customer. One week later on its delivery flight Kalakala Airlines announced the carrier was getting a new livery that would replace the current scheme introduced in 2010.

The new livery maintains the stone coloured fuselage while introducing a crimson and white mask designed to be reminiscent of Native American warpaint, also updated was the tail and thunderbird logo featuring a brighter palette and more striking design. The airline confirmed this would be applied to all the fleet gradually to ensure a unified image as due to finance problems around a third of Kalakala's fleet remains in the pre 2010 grey livery with the other two thirds featuring the 2010 look, all new deliveries will feature the new design and the aircraft in the older livery are due to be repainted first.
