Rio Grande Airways Announces Delivery of Rollout 737-900

DENVER, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Rio Grande Airways announced today that it has taken delivery of the first 737-900 of the current business cycle. "We are proud to be the launch partner for the 737-900," said Denver Loving, President and Chief Executive Officer for Rio Grande. "The 900 series fits our needs for a high volume, short range aircraft perfectly. We have been waiting on this for months and are very excited to see our first 737-900 decked out in the new Rio Grande Airways livery," said Loving.

Aspen Durango, Chief Financial Officer for Rio Grande noted the cost-effectiveness of the aircraft. "We are extremely positive about the impact this aircraft will have on our bottom line. We expect to fill 90% or more of the seats on almost all of our planned short-range, high-volume routes," said Durango. Durango expected that the first 737-900 would be placed on a daily route between Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW).

Rio Grande is one of the most profitable airlines from prior business cycles. Based in Denver, Colorado, Rio Grande continues to be the airline of choice for passengers flying from Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and many other destinations in the western United States.
