DENVER, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Rio Grande Airways announced today that it has signed an exclusive aircraft deal with the Boeing Corporation of Seattle, Washington. "I am pleased to announce that Rio Grande Airways will be purchasing Boeing aircraft exclusively during the coming business cycle," said Denver Loving, President and Chief Executive Officer for Rio Grande.

Both Airbus and Boeing aircraft were investigated for both the short haul flights that are the mainstay of the Rio Grande system, and for international flights. "This is the result of months of intensive negotiation," said Aspen Durango, Chief Financial Officer for Rio Grande. "The Boeing 737 and 787 aircraft are the best fit for our operation. We expect to order several hundred in the coming business cycle," said Durango.

"We look forward to many thousands of hours of low-maintenance flight cycles. With this agreement, Rio Grande will have one of the youngest fleets in the business," said Loving.

Rio Grande is one of the most profitable airlines from prior business cycles. Based in Denver, Colorado, Rio Grande continues to be the airline of choice for passengers flying from Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and many other destinations in the western United States.
