I agree to a point. I think people have a right to name it whatever they want. As far as the drop down menu, It sounds like a good idea but people will mess that up.
Someone will start South West in Canada so they don't have to deal with the 60+ other airlines in the USA.
I try to model my airlines after airlines in real life as far as destinations goes. I gave up on trying to use the same aircrafts.

I agree we should do something but let's say it's going to cost 500M to operate flights to a another country. If I'm in the USA then I'm fighting 40+ other airlines to get enough money to fly to Canada or Mexico. It would be nearly impossible.
Just like if I wanted to start an airline in Singapore then I wouldn't be able to to fly anywhere else.

Even then I don't know if that will stop them. When your DOP is 150M+ it won't make a difference if they have to pay more. It would actually give them something to spend all that money on.
