    Paying lease for an aircraft not in my fleet ...

    I tend to lease aircraft and then buy them from the leaser when cash is adequate. I currently own all aircraft in my fleet.

    However, when I look at my financial report, more specific on the tab of leasing, I see this :

    So I'm paying lease for aircraft 22042. The point is that aircraft isn't even in my fleet !

    Double Aircraft Delivery ??

    I was keeping an eye on the used aircraft market and something odd came up.

    I saw this :

    7808 and 7809 : same delivery date to same operator

    11300 and 11301 : same delivery date to same operator

    12767 and 12768 : same delivery date to same operator

    13871 and 13872 : same delivery date to same operator

    15606 and 15607 : same delivery date to same operator

    Is this an error or is this person hacking ?
    He's been N°1 on R4 ever since it started and I always wondered how he did it ... I've been trying to catch up with him by continuously scanning the used aircraft market, but this guy's is just flying away from everyone else ...

    Ilyushin Il-96-300 & -400 range & fuelflow

    On AE we find the following :

    Il-96-300 - Range : 5,737 mi (6,749 max) - Fuelflow : 36,835
    Il-96-400 - Range : 5,075 mi (5,970 max) - Fuelflow : 72,362

    On the Ilyushin website you find the following data :


    Il-96-300 - Range : 11,500 km (13,500 max) // 7,145 mi (8,388 max)
    Il-96-400 - Range : 10,000 km (no data on max) // 6,213 mi (no data on max)

    Both versions have a cruising speed of 870km/h (540mph) with a maximum fuel capacity of 156,620 liters.

    Il-96-300
    Range : 7,145 mi (8,388 max)
    Cruise speed : 540 mph
    Flight time : 13.2 hours (15.5 hours)
    Fuel Flow : 11,837 l/h (10,083 l/h) // 9,517 kg/h (8,107 kg/h) // 20,981 lbs/h (17,872 lbs/h)

    Il-96-400
    Range : 6,213 mi (no data on max)
    Cruise speed : 540 mph
    Flight time : 11.5 hours (no data on max)
    Fuel Flow : 13,613 l/h (no data on max) // 10,944 kg/h (no data on max) // 24,128 lbs/h (no data on max)

    I don't know the unit of fuel flow on AE, but I assume it will be either l/h, kg/h or lbs/h.
    So I believe the number crunchers should have a second look at the fuel flow of these models, especially because the -400 uses twice as much fuel as the -300 on AE. The range on AE also doesn't correspond to the data provided by Ilyushin.

    Airbus A330-200/-300 maximum seating capacity

    Data on R4 :
    Airbus A330-200 : 380 pax
    Airbus A330-300 : 440 pax

    • Maximum Seating Capacity:
      The maximum number of passengers approved for emergency evacuation is:


    • 375 basic (3 Type A and 1 Type 1 doors installed);

    • 406 option (4 Type A doors installed – Mod 40161).
    Airbus A330-300 (p.14, 4.3)

    • Maximum Seating Capacity:
      The maximum number of passengers approved for emergency evacuation is:


    • 375 basic (3 Type A and 1 Type 1 doors installed)

    • 440 option (4 Type A doors installed – Mod 40161)
    As we already use 440 for the A330-300, it is my feeling we should use the same Mod for the A330-200 and use 406 as the maximum seating capacity.

    A340-600 vs. B777-300ER maximum seating capacity.

    Currently on R4, the maximum seat capacities are :
    Airbus A340-600 : 475 pax
    Boeing 777-300ER : 660 pax

    These numbers seem to be incorrect when you compare them to each other, as the A346 and 773ER are very similar aircraft in terms of capacity. The Boeing website lists the typical seating arrangement of the 773ER at 365. On R4, the maximum seating arrangement of the 773ER is 660. This gives us a factor of 1,808. When we take a look at the Airbus website, we find the A340-600 has a typical 3-clas configuration of 380 pax. Using the 1,808 factor, this would bring us to a maximum seating capacity of 687 seat.

    This gives us a clear indication that one of these 2 numbers is incorrect. Personally, I believe the 773ER is has about the correct capacity (about the same as a B744), but the capacity of the A346 is way off.
