Just a quick question.. been struggling with the 3.1 open world for a while now and I finally got an airline that is making profit and is slowly growing. ( took me about 5 tries.. noob)
Now it seems that I my HQ is at an airport where a big player has his HQ This is kinda annoying since he is now taking over my routes and I am in the starting phase. I understand that this is part of the game but would it be possible to find out what airports already have a HQ when you start your airline?
I know in the first screen it shows you if there are hubs at an airport but this does not tell you if there are HQ's.
I have two questions about the daily passenger demand that I couldn't find being posted before..(and I did look for them)
- How is it possible to have a 100 load factor if you have more capacity than demand and you are the only one flying on that route. For example a route that has a daily demand of 300 can still have a 100% load factor and be profitable if I give it a capacity of 400.
- If the daily demand would be 40 seats than technically I would have to use an aircraft close to that number. However if I choose to fly once a week with a 280 seats aircraft it divides it over the days and gives me a 100% daily load factor. Is this for a specific reason? It just seems a little "strange" to me.
Not sure if anyone posted anything about this before and I wasn't sure if I would either.
Having a bit of an issue. One of my destinations has an extremely short runway, meaning not all aircraft (almost none ) is able to land/take off here. However if I assign an aircraft that does meet the requirements and later change all its routes to a certain other aircraft that does not meet the requirements it lets me do it.
THe big advantage is that it doubles the amount of passengers so lower cost more profit.. but I feel like I'm cheating and thats where the issue kicks in...
I have been looking around to find an advantage of having a hub but I don't really see one. Reading all the topics about this subject don't give me any advantages so if there are any advantages please name them.
A hub allows you to have connecting passengers ----> Connecting passengers only pay half of regular passengers -----> having a hub doubles the rental fee per gate. So I pay more and earn less??
Isn't it smarter to play with the ticket prices and create a 100% or close to 100% load factor (depending on profit) ?
