NewAir was established in 1989 as Newfoundland Air System by a Canadian businessman. Following the merger of Air Canada and Canadian Airlines International NewAir began to expand exponentially and by the end of the 2000s it had 3 European destinations as well as many routes within Canada and to the United States.
The Livery depicted was introduced in 2002 on a 737-200 thus beginning a new era for the company. NewAir operates primarily out of its main base at St. John's, NL along with a secondary base at Montreal, QC.
