Just thought a good feature would be to have a national carrier for each country and the same for certain regions. One airline would only ever be able to be one, but lets say if you fly to all airports within a region, or you fly all of the required routes then you are offered by the local goverment the regional carrier title, which brings a local reputation bonus, but might you to fly some not very profitable routes. If you fall behind on fullfiling the goverments wishes they may remove the carrier status from your airline (or another airline starts to out perform you).

A similar concept would apply to national airlines, but this being much harder to acheive.
