In Topic: Malware?

Can you confirm that your browser isn't being hijacked by existing malware on your system? On a side note, feel free to use AdBlock if you think it's coming from the ads.

I've been loading pages in and out of the game all day today and never had to wait more than 1-2 seconds (at the worst) for a page to load, so I can't reproduce the speed problems you're claiming. Interestingly, I've used Vista for years and haven't had any problems. Granted it's less polished and optimized than Windows 7, but I find most whining about Vista to be greatly exaggerated.

As for the malware source, you can post the IP here.

I was already using Vista when everyone else was using x p. Had it fresh off the shelf and thought it stunk from the beginning. I can tell you they never improved on it since. There's still many features that just won't work on Vista, or will work on the 32-bit, but won't work on the 64-bit or vice-versa. They couldn't wait to market it & stuffed it in every new computer on the shelf before they realized it had issues. Also, I was using Windows while the rest of the world was still on MS-DOS (21 years ago) & was using a type of 'internet' in the military long before it was ever public (22 years ago). Since I have experience 'enjoying' computers for at least a quarter of a century & have had a chance to sample many different aspects of these overgrown word processors that are interconnected, I'm not as unconscious as one might think when it comes to computers or voicing my opinion about operating systems. I say Vista stinks compared to x p, or even 3.1. But this isn't point.

I forwarded the files to AVG & as for slowness & malware, whenever I catch something, it IS from YOUR site, & after its quarantined, & after I clean temp files, I can log on again & speed won't be an issue until another malware/trojan is quarantined. As far as my system being hijacked, the only time I have difficulties & malwares is when I'm on YOUR SITE. The last one that was caught came when the page http://www.airline-empires.com/index.php? opened. As I said, it's being picked up on pages that don't particularly have ads. In regard to speed, the longest I had to wait for a page to load this evening was about 2 or 3 minutes. As I've said, the site is stumbing all over itself & it wasn't like this before when I played AE7 in the spring.

HERE IS THE IP web address that was in the suspicious file: http://65.77.131.5

Man! World Airways! Last I remember of them was when they had gold & red livery. I requested a flight schdeule from them way back when & they sent me a timetable, postcards, & some brochures. I remember they were running scheduled service from places like Oakland, Baltimore, DC, maybe New York, Hawaii. They were one of my favs. I last saw World Airways on the tarmac at DHA in late 1990.

What planes have you flown in? (as a passenger or pilot)

Each individual aircraft below represents an individual flight between two points whether it was non-stop or multi-stop. Each aircraft listed had its own registration number. In other words, I did not list the same aircraft twice. Each individual flight on each individual C-9 may have had as many as 12 to 15 takeoffs & landings at different airports & bases between the two primary destinations.

Boeing 727-100; Boeing 737-200; Boeing 727-200; Boeing 727-100; Boeing 727-100; Boeing 727-100; Boeing 727-100; Boeing 757; McDonnell Douglas DC-9-50; McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30; McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30; BAe Jetstream 31 (aborted take-off, engine problems); BAe Jetstream 31; C-9 Nightengale; C-9 Nightengale; C-9 Nightengale; C-9 Nightengale (emergency landing, nose wheel); C-9 Nightengale; C-9 Nightengale; C-9 Nightengale; Boeing 737-300 or 400; Boeing 737-300 or 400; CH-46 Sea Knight; CH-46 Sea Knight; McDonnell Douglas DC-9 Super 80; Swearingen Metro III; UH-1N Huey (as ballast, maintenance check flight); Boeing 727-100; Boeing 747; CH-53E Super Stallion; C-5 Galaxy (with six AH-1Ws in the belly); Lockheed Hercules C-130; CH-46 Sea Knight; CH-53E Super Stallion; AH-1W Super Cobra (Front Seat); CH-53D Sea Stallion; McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10; Boeing 747-100; CRJ-100ER; Boeing 757-232; Boeing 737-490; Hawker-Siddeley HS748 2A; Boeing 737-290C; Boeing 737-290C; Boeing 737-2X6C; Boeing 737-4Q8; Boeing 767-332; CRJ-100ER; Airbus A320-232; Boeing 737-522; Swearingen Metro III; Swearingen Metro III; Boeing 737-522

Sounds like you checked your list AFTER the bug was fixed.

No. I said that even after the second time I found Arubanstar doing what he was doing (well after you looked into the first time), he was still able to do it, but a 777 never came up on my aircraft list when I was working on the MDW-LGW route. I had been pointing out that he can, but I can't. I would assume a loophole would let me do it as well.

1) Once again, if you encounter a malware warning, please post the URL of the offending advertisement or source so we can track it down instead of a useless rant. With hundreds of page loads I haven't seen a single malware warning.
2) I'm in the game multiple times a day, and 99% of the time I do not notice any slowness. Occasionally there are 500 errors and slow page loads during day changes, but those don't last longer than a minute at a time.
3) Define "walking over itself"?
4) We are actively tracking down cheaters and closing loopholes.
5) No one is forcing you to come back day after day.

As I've said before, the malware/trojans are getting stopped at specific locations which are ones I believe have no ads on them, such as the page after login which shows rank, value, etc. When clicking on "ENTER WORLD", my antivirus goes off. There are other areas too that shift around from time to time, such as clicking on 'routes' or 'aircraft' & the antivirus will stop something. I have isolated the file which is suspect. But if I send it anywhere, it will be to the antivirus/spyware site. AVG SiteReports may be another site the needs info forwarded to.

I've encountered slowness often. It wasn't until the server move. Prior to this, I was able to play on a cell phone... the site moved so well. Now, it doesn't.

Walking all over itself, aka stumbling, aka slow, aka awkward. Such as the way Windows Vista works. Like I said, it was not like this before your move. My computer has more memory than necessary too. I'm not on dial-up, but at times the site acts like it is on dial up.

Yes, I know no one forces me to visit. It must be brain damage.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Let me further add...

It just happened again. I was renewing leases on aircraft. Finished 8 or so, site gets slow. Waiting for an aircraft to come up was taking forever. Minutes, upon minutes. I decide to go to the page www.airline-empires.com/index.php. I went to click on my user id to get to my profile page so I could get to my posts to update this thread. Antivirus caught JS/Sinowal-V & Mal/iframe-X. I isolated the file that the Mal/iframe was located at. All I can tell you is that there is an IP address that shows up in the command line. You want the address here or in your PM?
