Maybe this should be used for realistic worlds but when flying long distance if your route is near a hub it's automatically connects there, u get little some profit for those who connect, but most profit you get from the whole flight which equals the profit of a nonstop flight, so essentially you get more profit by connecting then a nonstopflight, this will also help give more benefits to hubs, I think there should only be 1 stop per route,
Also for realistic worlds from the time period of 1970-1999 I think ALL airlines in asia should be given a European hub, this will add realism for
Flights bound to north and south america, though the total profit equals the profit of a nonstop flight because you get no profit connecting to europe
Examples in real life- flight from LAX to KPHL on southwest , 1 connection at LAS
Flight from TPA to LAS on delta, 1 stopover at ATL
Internationally wise:
JetAirways (past, done time to time now) flight from JFK to DEL, 1 stopover at BRU
