In Topic: My first ever livery attempt! Criticism welcome

Well done for your first try! I'd recommend the following things:

  • It would be good to give a little more breathing room between the titles and the windows - could afford to go down in text size slightly
  • You'll want to smoothen out the curves used to taper the red cheatline up the nose and tail, they're a little disjointed and inconsistent
  • Personally, I wouldn't use such a detailed, realistic crown on the tail just relative to the rest of the pretty plain livery, but that's entirely up to the artist's discretion
  • Also, perhaps put the "BRITISH AIRLINE GROUP" title located above the aircraft in white text, and change the steel blue background to the same darker blue that's used on the actual fuselage
  • Not a huge fan of the blue engines or the white patch on the wing fairing without the cheatline, but again that's totally up to you

Keep designing and you'll find yourself getting better and better :)

Aircraft tend to pop up on the used market at random times, so it's possible that they're yet to be randomly chosen. Or, it's possible that someone snatched them up super quickly as soon as they were put on the market.

this is interesting, and good to know. im curious why it wouldnt make sense on the american route? the demand is similar i think

The numbers work out, but if you're looking for a high level of realism, the market dynamics are fundamentally very different. Most American domestic routes IRL prioritize high frequencies, and widebodies on US domestic flights are typically either transcontinental flights or positioning segments (e.g. UA sometimes running 767s on EWR-IAD so that aircraft can operate EWR-LHR-EWR-IAD-LHR-IAD trips. Contrast this with IRL short-haul routes throughout SE Asia and eastern Asia, where you'll see routes with similar demand operating fewer frequencies and larger-capacity aircraft.

Depends on the location and level of realism you're looking for really - for example, it wouldn't be unheard of to put a bunch of 777s on a route like ICN-NRT, but that wouldn't really make sense on JFK-ATL (about the same distance).

I can still access this site - was slow on Chrome and mobile up until about 48 hours ago, but seems to have returned to normal speed now for me.
