VC1 is usually what I chose, DC-3 is discontinued damn near immediately so you can't expand on its capabilities too much and the Bristol 170 has awful fuel flow.

Although all 3 are worse than the CV-240 line, get those ASAP and take care of it. Good reliable short-haul planes that are great for the early game. They eventually get outclassed later on, especially since R0 moves very fast in the beginning, but not until about 1960ish when the Vickers Vanguard becomes available that it truly becomes outclassed in its field.

Its 2013 in this world, so all of them are discontinued.

It was purpose built as an airliner, which at the time of it's entry into the game had many orders from Russian carriers. Should AE ever have active data collectors again, I doubt this entry would remain. 

Then, as far as I can tell, the Cl 215 and 415 were never built as airliners, yet still in the game?

This would require passenger airline use to be justified for entry into the game as it was not a purpose-built airliner.

I know this one is a overused example but the TU-334 was never in service yet added?

As far as I can tell, here is no major difference between the Otter and AN-2, so they are essentially interchangeable in terms of gameplay, the DHC-2, no one really uses aircraft like it is the game so what's the point in adding a aircraft no one will use.
