Losing passengers

Somehow a smaller airline got 50 planes out of nowhere and now he is taking all of my routes, and I have one the best reputations in the game.  How do I win them back?

Why does fuel cost so much money at the end of the month(30million)?

I am in a Sandbox world and I am a good airline with a lot of profit. However, this month at the end of the month, I lost 26 million dollars, just like last month. The only thing I can think of is I have 3 aircraft families too early, but I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
