Sun Air (Press Release)

01 May 2013 - 04:17 PM

Sun Group ltd. is proud to announce the formation of Sun Air, a new airline operating in and out of India. The new airline, based out of Hyderabad, aims at linking the many population centers of India with one another.

Having started with a lone ATR-72-400 regional turboprop narrow-body aircraft, the airline has already expended its fleet with another aircraft, an ATR-72-500 in order to meet demands. "It is likely that the airline will expend even more in the near future with acquisitions of more aircraft of the same make and model, whether through leases or purchases." quoted a senior airline official when asked about plans for expansion. He continued with comments regarding routes in which he told the press, "We currently offer our services on 5 strong routes, and we plan to continue to expand in the near future to at least triple that number."

Exactly where the airline would extend its routes to, remains a hot topic for discussion among regional airline analysts, as many expect the airline to expand east into the Indochinese countries and later even to China.
